There is a real developmental case for being built up to handle starter levels of volume If you're ready to handle getting 15+ outs and are only asked to get 3-6, that should be a breeze on your body It's like being prepared to run a marathon and only needing to run a 5K
Depending upon your role, the game demands the following: 🔘500-700 throws per week 🔘2,000-3,000 throws per month Your throwing program should ensure the first time you hit these weekly and monthly volumes is NOT in the month of June

Scrolling past 63-game summers and trophy pics? The FOMO is real, but it's false. Trophies don't decide who succeeds in HS and beyond. Development, durability, and being ready at tryouts do. That's what our Development Academy is built for. Schedule your assessment today at velocitybaseballva.com

I own one of the largest baseball development businesses in the country. We’re trusted by some of the best players in the world. I also operate club teams. And I’ve become increasingly disgusted with the pay-to-play model at the younger ages.

I spent the last few days speaking with college coaches at all levels and divisions. ALL of them to a man said the same thing: "The 2027 and 2028 classes are going to carry the heaviest load from all these changes. The real winners in this current landscape are JUCO programs. The talent is going to need to find a home. Starting in 2029 , all of that JUCO Talent is going to be in demand!" Message, find a spot where you can play and a good fit!

Ages 15-18: @MLB recommends 4 months off a year from competition. Reality: less than 3. Fall ball → mid-November. Tryouts → February. No deload. No on-ramp. No real gains. There’s a better way. It’s just math. ⚾ velocitybaseballva.com

NLCS MVP Jake Bauers shares how letting go of results helped him find a different level of freedom as a competitor. "I think what changed for me this year was I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing. I started caring about being in the moment and getting out of my own way." Sometimes, the biggest obstacle to performing at your best isn't a lack of preparation or ability. It's the pressure you place on yourself to produce a particular outcome. You become so concerned with what you want to happen that you lose touch with what the moment actually requires. Any performer can unlock a new level when they learn how to be fully invested in the competition without becoming imprisoned by the outcome. 🎥: Fox Sports

1/Everyone wants to blame “weighted balls.” Very few people know how to use them in a training setting. At Velocity, we don’t roll out a bucket of plyos and let athletes rip them. Here’s why. 🧵 (1/10)

9/ That’s why everything at Velocity starts with a 40-point assessment. We don’t guess. We measure. No template programs. What an athletes does is based on what his body shows us, not on what went viral last week. (9/10)

10/ We tell every athlete who walks in wanting to throw harder the same thing: there are no shortcuts. (10/10)

We tell every kid who walks in wanting to throw harder the same thing: there’s no “get rich quick” in development. It takes years. It should.
