I want to be very clear here
I don’t teach velocity gains over everything
In the Veloclass -
I teach guys how to move and maximize that
In doing so - spin rates go up, consistency is main focus, velos climb
I don’t tell guys sacrifice strikes for velo
I would rather they throw 88 with 18” of run than a flat 90 that gets barreled
So we get 90 with 18” of run and great things happen
We also looked at offspeed and see what we can do there and with @TrackManBB we were able to help some guys develop a pitch that we can now map and locate, and still spin it at 3k for a strike
Repeatability is the key - if it looks like you are having a stroke when you pitch you are probably doing it wrong
- direction and repeating the same release is the key to throwing strikes (way more to throwing strikes with all the new data we can collect but this still applies)
You have to find the mindset that you are going to fight like a madman (without redlining too hard and getting an adrenaline dump)
You can’t doubt yourself if you prepared -if you didn’t prepare it is now your fault you lost 100% - if you did prepare then you compete to the max and let the cards fall where they may
This is just a little bit of it
HS VeloClass update
Still 3 weeks out from starting - this fall we have a record high of guys 90+ with 3 over 95
Last year had 9 VeloClass alums drafted, 17 district pitchers of the year, and 16 All state guys in Tx (go look through my feed for the proof)
It’s not just for the advanced guys - my favorite thing is taking a bubble guy (on the bubble meaning might pitch/ might not pitch for his HS) and making them a monster
Have had more than a few inquiries about college training groups so here’s a post on it
I’ll be running it out of 2 locations - one near the galleria one in Gunter
DM me for details
Young players reading this
You are allowed to get better
You aren’t stuck with how you are at age 16/17/18 you can build and develop
It happens everyday - and I see late bloomers become D1 guys all the time not just the guys that are 90+ as a sophomore (if anything these guys get rug pulled senior year - happens alot just look around)

To all those younger pitchers chasing velo, Ashby was 80-83 as a junior in HS. Now he's wrist-flicking 98-100 while dropping 3-2 changeups in the World Series. 👇
In 2015, Aaron Ashby was an @PB_Uncommitted rising senior throwing 85 mph at Park Hill HS (@cdtrojans). Over a decade later, the @Brewers high-leverage southpaw is dominating in the big leagues, posting a 0.00 ERA and 17 K in 15.2 IP this postseason. 👏
Development is not linear. 𝙍𝙪𝙣 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙊𝙬𝙣 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙚. 🤘

Ridiculous , big league, brewers bullpen arm. Flashback to his recruiting uncommitted and went to juco. Progressed at his pace and grew into a monster. Not about committing. It's about running your race. LHP 85 in high school Totally normal.

🚨DAWG ALERT🚨
Electric stuff on Friday from this uncommitted sophomore RHP. Struck out all 6 batters he faced.
He attacks the zone, works fast and competes every pitch. Even better, he’s a great kid who will make your program better on and off the field.

It’s “rug pulling” season right now at the D1 level…
High school kids in the 2027 class are being told they no longer have a scholarship offer. Signing Day is November 11th. There will only be more high school guys getting this phone call in the next couple of weeks.
If you’re committing to a school with more than 7-8 commits in the class - understand the math. 34 player rosters + DSA’s. That’s roughly 7-8 incoming freshman in most cases.
Schools don’t typically want to play freshman.
What can you do? Wait to commit. Do your homework. Keep an eye on the size of the class in the year leading up to signing day. Keep an eye on the roster in the fall of your senior year. Have a backup plan.

Congratulations kid! Earned it
I am really exited to announce that I have committed to play baseball at Lamar University next year! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has believed in me along the way. Your faith in me has meant more than you know.
During this process, I have learned the importance of believing in myself, trusting God’s plan, and surrounding myself with people who believe in me.
I’m extremely thankful and excited for the future! #peckemcards
