Good news for warbird fans: the Tillamook Air Museum reopens Oct 29, ten months after a windstorm tore open the roof of historic Hangar B. Photo via @WarbirdsNews
Ten months after a windstorm tore a large gash in the roof of the old Naval Air Station Tillamook Hangar B, the Tillamook Air Museum has announced it will reopen to the public on Thursday, October 29. With the help of the Utah-based nonprofit Vintage Aviation Museum, one of the Pacific Northwest’s most well-known air museums will once again welcome visitors inside its massive WWII-era wooden blimp hangar. The reopening will also allow visitors to see two retired military aircraft delivered to the museum in October 2025: McDonnell-Douglas AV-8B Harrier II BuNo 165002 and Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star 51-4286. Today is International Day of the Air Traffic Controller. Every safe arrival starts with a calm voice on frequency who rarely hears the thank-you. So: thank you, ATC.

Archer's Midnight just flew piloted demos over San Francisco Bay through busy Class B airspace. Oakland to the Marina in about ten minutes. Urban air mobility only works if the airspace can keep up.
Over the past week, Midnight made its way from Salinas to Oakland through progressively larger cities with more complex airspace, then completed multiple piloted flights over the San Francisco Bay. The goal: show our electric air taxi can operate seamlessly in the complex airspace around San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose's international airports. Mission accomplished. That’s a wrap on the Northern California leg of the "No Roads" Flight Tour. Los Angeles is up next. archer.com/news/archer-compl…

FAA MedGuide lets pilots check a medication against duty rules before they fly. Clear answers up front keep more crews current and safe.
The FAA has introduced MedGuide, an online, interactive resource that lets users search medical conditions, prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications to determine whether a medication is acceptable for safety-related duties. The tool also indicates whether an initial or subsequent-dose wait period applies. The initial wait applies after the first dose of a medication; the subsequent wait applies after the last dose before reporting for flight or other safety-related duties. MedGuide is part of the FAA's Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners and serves as a reference for airman medical certification and air traffic controller clearance. The FAA says the current version 1.0 shows only allowed medications, with later versions expected to add conditional and unacceptable medications. The agency notes the tool is not a substitute for an individualized aeromedical assessment. Medication use remains reportable on each FAA medical application. A Raptor pilot just commanded a drone wingman in flight. Big milestone. When the wingman is software, knowing exactly who's in command matters more than ever.
A pilot flying an F-22 Raptor fighter has issued commands to a YFQ-44A Fury Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) drone in a first-of-its-kind test. This is an important development for the U.S. Air Force’s CCA program, as its F-22s are set to be the first aerial ‘quarterbacks’ for these uncrewed aircraft once they enter operational service. The Air Force and Anduril, Fury’s prime contractor, announced the “airborne tactical-control demonstration” yesterday, but it occurred sometime earlier this month. An Anduril spokesperson confirmed directly to TWZ that this was a first for an F-22 and a pre-production YFQ-44A. Read our full story here: twz.com/air/f-22-pilot-contr…
