I've been hyped for WoW Forever and have been having a lot of fun but I think what's going to be most disappointing is how SAFE they were with it. Someone said it's feels like 95% classic and 5% "plus" and that sounds about right. Why are we so limited on race/class combos? Where's the stuff from SoD? Where's the Shaman Tanks and Mage Healers? Where are the new classes/builds? New races? Daring new spell/talent/glyph/etc?? Where's the "PLUS?" On top of that, you have halfwit Classic Andys who literally just want Vanilla for the 4th time and cry about any change. And no, I don't want this to be Retail-. What I wanted was a slower experience with all the pillars they talked about but with spice thrown in. I'm wondering if the plan was just to start off SUPER safe then add more drastic stuff later, hoping to pull people back when retail/SoD/Remix are in a lull. If so, how many years is it going to take to get there vs just a few new dungeons and outdoor zones here and there? I'm hoping I'm wrong and we'll get more exciting stuff near endgame... we'll see.

You know there isn't much to whine about when the crash out of the day is "I don't see enough other people that I'm going to completely ignore."
The layering issue is killing hype for WoW Forever. Zones are empty. This is the Auction House in Ironforge and it's empty. Asmongold said it was like playing on someone's private ChatGPT sever. On my flyover starter intro players don't phase in until after you land, and then there are not many. This defeats the whole point of an old school MMO where you are supposed to feel like the world is alive and busy with players. In OG WoW we deliberately wanted to show the players as you flew in so you could get excited about entering the world. We *wanted* crowds in cities because they were designed to feel populated. We wanted you to see what the other players were doing, what gear they had, and to aspire to to have great characters riding cool mounts with fancy armor. Private servers were the first to raise the population caps and they were super popular for doing so. The more people in the world, the more it feels like a true MMO and not a single player RPG. Plus for hype, you WANT those huge crowds at launch. Yes, they can be inconvenient but you can up the spawn rate and people disperse to other areas quickly. The crowds make the game feel loved and popular and draws even more players in. I'm told they are tuning the layers now. BRING BACK THE CROWDS.

You are a delusional if you honestly believe Retail is doomed once WoW Forever comes out. It's going to do fantastic out of the gate, no doubt. Forever isn't going to have enough to keep most people occupied for the long haul and all the high end content will be so easy even Classic players will be able to put it on farm quickly. By the time Last Titan comes out, Retail enjoyers will be excited for the new expansion and want to get back to M+/Raids/PvP/etc. People will flock back and, if it's good, many will stay. Then, during lulls, we'll get new Forever content (or Remix, or SoD, or...) and many will shift to that or leave all together for a few months/year(s).

I'm hyped for WoW Forever but if you think Retail is in long-term trouble because of it you are huffing massive amounts of copium.

Watched "The Thing" ('82) for the first time in a long time. Still a good movie but man it'd get ripped apart today due to the massively stupid logic of the characters. "So we're safe as long as we're together" "Right! Let's split up then" "Oh no, someone died because we split up but now we for sure know who's legit" "Sounds good. Let's immediately split up again." "Oops, someone died again because we split up!" "Darn! OK let's split up." I know this is a common horror trope but it's so much more infuriating when half of the premise of the movie is "We are almost completely safe if we stick together."

It's incredible how common it is to see the most absolutely moronic WoW Forever takes paired with some variation of "Gamer. Father. Christian." in the bio.

First, yeah it sucks that a bunch of people lost their jobs. That blows. But for those saying that this is "The end of an era" and the like, let's be real; that era ended long ago. It's like that local restaurant you loved as a kid. You go back many years later but things have changed. None of the old employees are there, the food sucks and ownership has changed hands to someone who has 7 other restaurants; it's just another investment in his portfolio. The building is the same. The logo is the same. The name is the same. But the people, the motivation, the goals and the skills that actually made the company what is were are long gone. So I empathize with the employees who lost their livelihood but I don't mourn for Bioware as it died ages ago.

Damn this game looks really good and I like the premise! I'm going to wishlist thi-oh. Never mind. Repeat 100 times.

This is like saying that cars aren't worth the hassle because they're always breaking down. If either is true for you, it's probably because YOU did something dumb. Yes, if I put sugar in my gas tank, I'll have car problems. If clicking "Install driver" and not downloading random crap from sketchy websites is too difficult, yes you should stick to your consoles, Velcro shoes and sippy cups.
It sucks cause it's constant troubleshooting, constant figuring something out that takes precious time away from the only thing I wanna fucking do. It comes with benefits, but stop pretending it's smooth sailing. It just fucking isn't.

THIS is why I want games to tell where the current objective is. Not because I want to know where to go, but because I want to know where NOT to go

Look. 1) Expedition 33 was a fantastic game 2) These mini-games were hot garbage 2a) The excuse that they are optional is dumb. Optional shouldn't mean quality control goes out the window 3) Anyone who looks at these clips and thinks that's all the game is are also dumb
Isso aqui é o equivalente a fazer a prova prática inteira para tirar habilitação de motorista, mas esquecer de colocar o cinto de segurança.

No shade as I get what he's saying, but it's totally backwards when you think about it. You are saying doing dungeons (which is inherently a social activity) is taking away from "social experiences." Instead, you want people out in the world where they will spend the vast majority of their time solo questing. Put another way, doing content in a group dungeon is less social than open world questing because you don't see random people running around which you have minimal/no interaction with.
Reposting myself is kinda weird but one thing I did want to make sure I mentioned that did NOT get mentioned in the podcast is that we are also fixing a bug with XP in dungeons. In previous beta builds, the XP earned per kill was awarded based on the highest level person in the group. If you are running, say, deadmines with 4 level 20s and 1 level 25, the amount of XP you get is extremely low per kill. With this fix, you should now receive XP based on your level relative to the mob as intended. This, combined with the 20% increase to base kills in dungeons should make it feel better and more even. XP gain is not going to be what it was in era, but it should feel significantly better now. We understand that some of you want to dungeon cleave to 60, but this is another one of those things that has to pass muster with our core pillars. That playstyle being the optimal way to level does not pass that muster and we need to hold firm on these balance adjustments. As it stands now after the adjustments, with perfect xp/hr play, the leveling rates in dungeons will be very close, if not equal to the speed you can level with optimal questing play. That's how much better it was to level in dungeons in Era. Maintaining that balance is vital to our "World is the Main Character" and "Nurture and Protect Social Experiences" pillars together. Once the scales tip and dungeons become the clear winner, it has a cascading effect on player behavior and we have to consider that impact holistically.

Classic Andies: YEAH! Keep that crap in Retail!! Also Classic Andies: *Installs "Dungeon Maps /w Optimal Skips + Full Loot Drops + Boss Strategies!!" Mod*
Dungeon maps are probably not coming to World of Warcraft: Forever due to design philosophies. #Forever #Warcraft wowhead.com/news/dungeon-map…

For real. Why are they making changes and tweaks to improve the game and get it closer to where they want it during a BETA? Bring back betas being what they were MEANT to be; a marketing gimmick to build hype and change absolutely nothing based on player feedback!
Don't wanna be that guy but I'll be that guy. Anyone else feel like even in Beta all this tuning they're doing is kind of retailish? Like every week reading specific changes and notes. Obviously it's based on feedback and they're doing a great job, but could this turn into like our situation where they can't please every class and spec and we just wait every couple weeks for "weaker" specs to be buffed or builds in this case? Maybe I wasn't paying attention in 2019 but I felt like we never got this many tuning and adjustments. Maybe at launch it just be chill as is

Great to hear WoW Forever has nerfed dungeon XP. This will get people to stop grouping up in dungeons and participate in the real socialization of solo questing and AFK'ing at campfires.

Classes for sure. At this point, there are only 2, maybe 3 classic classes that I find interesting at all. Some new playstyles and mechanics would be great.
Would you rather WoW Forever add: More zones or More classes?

Someone notify bodybuilding expert @DSPGaming. He can play this and point out everything they get wrong and talk about how the devs know nothing about getting swole like him.
