I’ll write about this more in depth but a large portion of the Knicks being “bad” is by design. What I mean is, they’re optimized to win the championship not the RS game in front of them. This is a rapid departure from Thibs and even last year, when Brown had to prove himself…

Sure Brown experimented, but this year he’s all in on that lever. Bench units with tons of no star mins. Not running plays. Brunson’s on ball stats way down. Starters under 34 mpg in three close contests. Doubt this stuff is feeding into intensity issues but maybe?

Could get bad enough that Brown makes some changes like he did last season. They could work through it and flip a switch. Winning a championship comes with the privilege of not particularly caring and trusting the process, coach, team :)
