it would be nice if everyone in michigan could keep their shit together for 3 godforsaken days.
people can't keep their mouths shut and lock tf in for 70 hours?
save the long 2016 slap fighting for the month of silence we have before the presidential cycle starts up publicly. please.
Several people have asked me to give thoughts on this.
I don't have any. I genuinely don't care about what any of these people have to say.
These people wouldn't know what ground was if they jumped off a roof.
“What really broke voters was the fact that there was no primary.”
@mehdirhasan and the Bulwark’s @SarahLongwell25 break down the reasons behind Kamala Harris’ 2024 loss, noting that Harris didn’t “express herself well.”

I see why Democrats lose. The party is full of weak, tissue paper fools who dgaf about winning.
To implode like this 4 days before the midterms is pathetic.
Stevens has shifted the attention from Mike Rogers, where it should be, to some bs. Absolutely disgraceful display from her

McMorrow: "First of all, I have no idea what the hell Haley Stevens is doing. This is a moment where we have to recognize the stakes."
We have a chance to smother the last half of the Trump Presidency in the cradle.
I don’t know why we’re not all hands on deck.

Haley Stevens really should've just kept her mouth shut. Either toe the line or do no harm, the stakes are far too high.
CNN: Did it impact your vote at all?
Alaska Voter: Not a bit.
CNN: Can you tell who's who here?
AV: Absolutely. You've got Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. and then you have Sullivan Dan, who's a registered Republican and incumbent. And I don't even have my glasses on. It's pretty clear it's in black and white. It's very clear.
👀
NEW IN: @KamalaHarris will join several California Democrats, including Newsom, Becerra, Schiff, and Padilla, for a final midterm rally in Los Angeles on Sunday 👀
Hunter lives in Malibu I believe.
Am I the only one noticing that @GavinNewsom doesn’t live in SoCal but keeps dining practically down the street from @KamalaHarris’ house?
Malibu does not have great food options either!
Yes, that’s what they seem to be. At least some are using them that way.
But California isn’t in the equation for her, and none of that contingent that keeps pointing that out has seemed to internalize that.
You mean Alaskans don’t care about a “scandal” that the Republicans pulled the pin on months ago?
Shocked, I tell ya’

Final Round:
Mary Peltola (D) 50.8%
Dan S. Sullivan (R) 49.2%
To quote the Talking Heads... same as it ever was. +2 again.

Stuff like this isn’t interesting. It’s the H2H measurements between Harris and Newsom that are interesting.

Oh, oh. I see it.
Georgia, the last day to vote early is Friday, October 30. Make your plan to vote for Jon @Ossoff and Democrats up and down the ballot today or on Election Day.
This is wordy, but:
It's so perplexing.
But people like Peter are probably confusing Newsom's willingness to defer to her as evidence that he expects her to decline.
It could be that he doesn't know, and is preparing to go if she does stay out.
In fact, Newsom's conduct is entirely consistent with someone believes that there is a huge chance that Harris ultimately runs and that challenging her isn't worth the consequences.
Because suppose that crowd is right, and Newsom genuinely believes Harris sits out. What does he gain by this?
If she doesn't run, his path is clear.
If she runs, he's disqualified himself, unless he's willing to break his word.
And if he does that, he's handed Harris a bludgeon that she can use to smash his credibility and political conviction. Because, I promise you, if Newsom does run against Harris, and she does fail, her supporters won't flock to him.
We, as Harris supporters, by and large, remember. 😆
And he's gone on the record five times, each time more firmly than before making this commitment, without getting anything from her in return.
She hasn't endorsed it, or commented, and only, allegedly, subliminally, took a swipe at him through sources.
He's given basically everything, she's still holding all of her cards. I'm not sure that framing Harris as being in the weaker position is the thing to do here.
I want a straight up attack dog.
Harris can be the joyful warrior, and whoever the VP pick is can go around calling Vance and whatever unfortunate denizen of the Island of Misfit Toys he picks to be his running mate shriveled little homunculi of American conservatism, and emphasizing that small children should throw dirt at them as they pass by.
After reading 107 Days, I know she must navigate picking a VP who won't try to overshadow her, which is tricky as a woman. It's why Shapiro wasn't gonna work.
Ossoff's popularity could be a boon...and a threat. But look how he knows to immediately, respectfully defer to her here. Smart man. Team player. Good boy. Bright green flag that the ticket could work.
