Hi, I'm a trafficking survivor, one of those people you pretend to care about. Sex work didn't make me a victim, but the criminalization culture around sex work, thanks to folks like you, is what led to my situation. I was trafficked because I was young, scared, and powerless due to manipulation. The work itself had nothing to do with it, and although it pertained to sex work, it was actually labor trafficking at it's heart. (Did you know most trafficking is labor trafficking?) If the work was decriminalized, if I had access then to the same information I do now, it would never have happened. If there was education about entrepreneurship as a SWer available and the environment was normalized, I wouldn't have been a victim. Because once I was free of my abuser, I rebuilt my life with persistence, knowledge, and support from this community. Sex work paid for my therapy. Sex work paid for my lawyers. Sex work paid for my education. Sex work funded my business. Sex work funded my nonprofit. Sex work funded the community center I run. So no, I won't get another job. I like this one quite a lot. And I'll keep providing education about how to run a successful SW business in spite of you.

⚠️ Adult content is being sanitized and squeezed off the internet in a way that it never has been before. You should care, you should talk about it, you should know why it is different now and a big deal. THREAD 🧵1/

At the end of the day if you want to be a “male sex worker” in the online space it is YOUR responsibility to prove from day 1 to day 1000 that you’re not just doing this for free access to women’s bodies. This is a job and if you don’t want to treat it like a job you’re gonna get sussed out quick. The fact that so many “male content creators” have long histories of porn addiction and being regulars of in-person sex worker is not lost on us. A lot of you are just tricks who think you found a loophole to not paying anymore. We can smell it on you because you’re incapable of acting like a professional and the John tendencies are right there with your “we need to fuck off camera to establish a connection” and “I hate it when my scene partner is acting in any way” bullshit. You’re still haggling and negotiating and pushing boundaries for the sole purpose of getting what you want sexually, you’re just doing it with a link in bio. The male creators I respect tend to have established themselves alone before EVER asking anyone for a collab. That means building a reasonable following **all by your fucking self** and THEN approaching people to work with you. It means keeping all your communication completely professional and not acting like you’re getting ready for a tinder hookup. I mean the way some of you have approached me is literally the exact same way the clients from my club hit me up to “meet up outside of work”. Get it together.

I worked my butt off last week and hustled $2000 to make rent on time after losing two bank accounts from discrimination. Today I lost the new bank account I put that money in. I’m done being mad about it. Anyone have any ideas?

Advice for SW burnout.🩷 Number 2 might be my fave, because sometimes just FEELING stuck is our biggest obstacle.♾️ 1.Listen to your body: It's important to pay attention to your physical & mental health. If you are feeling burnt out, take a break & give your body the rest it needs. You might feel guilty doing this if your income drops, but if stress impacts your health, you will soon have no other choice. It’s better to take a break now rather than work yourself into illness. When you’re self-employed it’s very easy to forget to take time off, so you might just need a few good days of rest to feel your best. 2.Explore different types of SW: If you are feeling burnt out with your current work, try exploring different types of SW. This not only saved my career, it saved ME & turned into a very lucrative living! It took years for me to find my niche & refine my brand. Had I been more open-minded & willing to explore from the beginning, I might’ve saved myself a lot of hardship. 3.Take time for self-care: When you are constantly giving your energy & time catering to the fantasies & desires of others, it's easy to forget to take care of yourself. And regular beauty maintenance isn’t self-care when it’s a job requirement! Make self-care a priority & engage in activities that make you feel relaxed & rejuvenated. For me, this can be as simple as taking more time to stretch, a long hot bath, soothing skin care, or a day out in nature. 4.Surround yourself with a supportive community: Whether it's other SWs or friends & family who understand & support your profession, having a compassionate community that uplifts you is crucial for mental & emotional well-being. And please do remember, you are not obligated to engage with toxic members of the community, just because they are SWs, clients, or fans. 5.Set boundaries: It's important to have boundaries in any job, & being a SW is no exception. Don't be afraid to say no to clients or take on less work if you're feeling overwhelmed. Again, I realize this is sometimes tough in our business when it impacts income, but it’s healthier for the body & mind in the long-term. 6.Seek therapy or counseling: Burn out can be a sign of underlying emotional issues that may need to be addressed. Don't hesitate to seek professional help, if possible. EVERYONE can benefit from therapy. Think of it as an investment in you.🌼💓

En faisant de la p0rn0 la responsable des violences sexistes et sexuelles, on invisibilise complètement les injonctions sociales d’interactions entre les hommes et les femmes.

800 years ago at All Saints Church in Hereford, England, a skillful carpenter carved this gentleman high up in the dark roof where nobody could see him. Five years ago they built an extra floor with bright lights for a restaurant.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The restaurant floor in question was not built 5 years ago, but in fact in 1997, and the carving discovered no later than May 1998: thefreelibrary.com/Vicar+fails+to…
