Walter was a very bad boy… A Latin inscription from a church in Hertfordshire. The transcription is ‘Walter (con) Ba iii dedit annuatin sub pena excomunicatus majore’. It roughly translates as ‘Walter is to give annually 3 (somethings) under penalty of great excommunication’.

We are delighted to share this book of medicinal cures. It was owned by Elesebeth Loggins of Bretforton in the year 1690. Entries are incredibly endearing with phonetic spelling and vernacular dialect. Needless to say, we don't recommend testing these recipes! @TheHiveWorcs

Fantastic discovery at Hartlebury Castle! A new Civil War bastion! Keep up the good work team. This weekend, you can visit the dig and see the Sealed Knot in action @HartleburyCPT @EnglishCivilWar @ExploreThePast @bbcmtd @bbchw #Worcestershirehour
I never imagined that at 72 I would be involved in an archaeological dig and now I am with 4 more days to look forward to. My hunch was that a hill opposite @HartleburyCPT needed to be defended in @EnglishCivilWar We found the bastion ditch on the first day! @bbchw @bbcmtd

Maybe the problem isn’t degrees that don’t lead to well paid jobs but that some professions and skills are totally undervalued. Jobs in education, caring, arts, heritage etc are for the most part underpaid despite the contribution they make to society and the economy.
