Psychiatric drugs can change your personality. Turn you into a person you and the people around you don't even recognize. Dull your emotions, dumb you down, alter your perceptions of the world around you. Most people on them don't recognize how they've been altered. Spellbinding. The brain can't tell you it's impaired. Doctors call it your"mental illness" not drug effects. You may even like the drug effects particularly in the beginning.
Think of it this way since there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance psych drugs change normal functioning of the brain. The human brain is not designed to be drugged everyday without being harmed. It's an insidious process.
People who get off the drugs and recover know this. We are the lucky ones.

The fact that psychiatrists gives people drugs that disable them and then real medicine completely ignores their suffering is an abomination. We must fund research into treatment for iatrogenic harm. Anything else is an abdication of the oath.
