Well that was fun while it lasted...
Matt Campbell spoke about Rocco Becht with a bye week of perspective on Tuesday. But is he changing his tune, or is it more of the same?
Maybe that's in the eye of the beholder.

Penn State has a few WR flip targets, but doesn't appear to have much momentum. So, on the bye, Matt Campbell circled back to offer in-state 3-star Arnold Mugerwa.
Mugerwa is the 2nd Rutgers WR commit Penn State is attempting to flip.

Penn State has gotten its star WR back on the practice field, but Matt Campbell says Koby Howard is still "questionable" for Week 9 vs. Purdue

Coming off a bye with Purdue in town, Week 9 might be the last best chance for Penn State to finally establish an identity in the run game.
But what should that identity be?
@JYourish3 has a few ideas

Penn State's run game lacks an identity, and facing Purdue (No. 122 in EPA/rush) might be the last best chance to establish one.
Here's why I think that identity should start with duo, and why Taylor Mouser should go all-in on a gap-scheme run game:
Big Ten Week 8 power rankings: The top of the conference is a mess, but luckily, Penn State doesn't play many (if any) of those teams anymore.

The early odds for Week 9 have Penn State as a 7.5-point favorite over Purdue. Is that too much trust to place in the 0-4 (in Big Ten play) Nittany Lions?

As expected, 3-star 2027 LB Blake Betton has flipped from Penn State to Wisconsin.
With 2 out and 1 in this week, is it time to worry about Matt Campbell's first Penn State class?

Matt Campbell might be turning the tide in flip season, besting Ohio State and Missouri for RB Jordan Hall's commitment!
How big is this win on the recruiting trail for MC?

On Wednesday, Matt Campbell flew to Omaha to offer 4-star Missouri QB commit Braylen Warren. On Friday, Warren outdueled No. 1 QB Trae Taylor on the biggest stage of his senior year.

It's flip season, and Penn State's 2027 class looks to be under siege. Less than a week after Will Wood's flip, LB Blake Betton has been predicted to flip to Wisconsin.

The week Matt Campbell offers 4-star Braylen Warren, he takes down No. 1 QB Trae Taylor and Millard South
Westside slays the dragon.
Mizzou QB commit Braylen Warren finished with 319 total yards and five touchdowns to lead Omaha Westside past Millard South, 41-17.

Ridiculous contact balance and understanding of leverage. Physically intuitive runner. Holds offers from Penn State, Wisconsin, and Syracuse at the P4 level. Will be a big riser in the 28 class.
It's flip season, and while Penn State has already lost one commit, Matt Campbell still has time to go on the offensive.

Basketball season is around the corner, so it's time to take stock of the Big Ten landscape with our men's basketball preseason power rankings.
Where does Penn State belong?
