This man had raped a 6 year old girl in the year before he abducted Kylie. A jury had declined to indict him bc of a lack of evidence beyond the horrific testimony of a 6 yr old. The family of the victim had been begging the courts to do something, they refused. He had been living across the street from an elementary school while he had her captive. Kylie literally rescued herself by telling another child via AMONG US CHAT that she was being held captive, and the child’s parents contacted the FBI.
All of this would have been avoided if the testimony of a little girl had been respected. Shame on that jury. Shame on the courts.
FOR 17 MONTHS, A TEENAGE GIRL WAS MISSING. NOW WE KNOW WHAT SHE ENDURED BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.
She was held captive in an Oregon home, repeatedly assaulted, cut off from the outside world, and forced to remove her own braces with PLIERS so she would be harder to identify.
She was just 15 years old when she disappeared.
Kylie Arellano vanished from her home in Garden City, Utah, on May 29, 2025. For nearly a year and a half, her family and investigators searched for answers.
Now 17, Kylie has been found alive.
Federal investigators allege that Adam Hunter Harmel (39) met Kylie online, offered her money to travel to Oregon, and drove to Utah to pick her up.
Once in Oregon, Harmel allegedly threw her phone into a river, prevented her from leaving, and subjected her to repeated physical and sexual assaults.
But after 17 months, Kylie found a way to reach someone.
She reportedly contacted another child through an online gaming platform. That child told a parent, who contacted the FBI. Agents eventually listened in on a video call as Kylie described what had happened to her.
On November 1, 2026, authorities rescued Kylie from a home in Huntington, Oregon.
Harmel was arrested and is now facing federal charges.
Think about that. A teenager held captive for 17 months managed to find a way to get help through an online game.
And because another child spoke up, and a parent took it seriously, Kylie is finally free.
We know how investigators say she ended up in Oregon. What is difficult to comprehend is how she could be held there for 17 months without anyone discovering what was happening.
But today, the most important thing is that Kylie survived.
Ng too?! 🤬🤬🤬

🎥 This is an actual recording made by Ng’s accomplice, Leonard Lake, in the 1980s, showing Lake threatening a captive woman with sexual assault and murder.
The recordings became key evidence in Ng’s murder trial.
⚠️ Disturbing footage.

🚨 ATTENTION CALIFORNIA VICTIMS’ FAMILIES
If your loved one was murdered and the person responsible was sentenced to death, please contact the Victims Rights Reform Council (VRRC).
In light of Governor Gavin Newsom’s mass commutation of death sentences, we are reaching out to families directly impacted by this decision.
These sentences were imposed through our judicial system, under laws enacted by elected representatives and upheld by California voters.
Victims’ families deserve answers, transparency, and a voice in decisions that profoundly impact their lives.
We are particularly concerned about whether families were properly notified, afforded an opportunity to be heard, and whether all constitutional and legal requirements were followed.
Justice does not end at sentencing, and victims’ rights do not disappear because a governor exercises executive authority.
📩 Please contact us directly:

If you know a California family affected by these commutations, please share this post.

I have been waiting 24 years for my neighbor David Westerfield to be executed for the kidnapping and murder of my 7-year-old neighbor, Danielle van Dam. And now thanks to @GavinNewsom, it looks like it will never happen.
I was 13 when he abducted her from her bedroom in the middle of the night in 2002. I would never equate what I experienced with what her family suffered, but Danielle's murder devastated our whole neighborhood, and me personally. I was a sensitive kid and it was a major contributor to my mental health decline in adolescence.
In the 20 days between her disappearance and his arrest, I developed insomnia and spent those nights walking around the house checking the locks on the doors and windows. I followed the trial closely. As we learned the horrific details, I couldn't stop thinking about what she endured during the 3 days he had her.
Her body was found dumped off the side of a road 25 days after she went missing. It was too decomposed to test for sexual assault, but we all knew that's why he took her. He was also convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material found on his computer.
There was never any doubt about Westerfield's guilt. There was an abundance of forensic evidence, including her blood on his clothing and in his motorhome. In 2019, the California Supreme Court unanimously upheld his conviction and death sentence. Shortly afterward, Newsom imposed his moratorium. And now he does THIS.
California voters rejected abolishing the death penalty in both 2012 and 2016, and even voted to expedite executions. All these years, I've held on to the hope that someone would eventually take office who respected the will of California voters and would allow these sentences to be carried out.
It's especially insulting to hear Newsom go on about morality, as if he is morally superior to those of us whose lives were affected by these heinous crimes and who want to see the perpetrators brought to justice. I'm hoping the California Supreme Court can stop Westerfield's commutation.
despicable, Davis's sentence should have been carried out years ago
HER NAME WAS POLLY KLAAS. SHE WAS ONLY 12 YEARS OLD. 💔
Her murderer RICHARD ALLEN DAVIS had his death sentence COMMUTED today by Governor Newsom.
Polly loved acting, playing the clarinet, cinnamon toast, and watching The Simpsons with her dad.
She was funny, compassionate, and stood up for children who were bullied. Her friends remembered her infectious laugh and silly made-up commercials.
On October 1, 1993, Polly was kidnapped from her bedroom during a sleepover in Petaluma, California. She was later found murdered.
Her killer, Richard Allen Davis, was sentenced to death in 1996 and is now among those affected by California’s death-row commutation decision.
Please keep her father, Marc Klaas, in your prayers. 🙏🏻❤️
This man has endured unimaginable heartbreak. After losing his little girl, he had to sit through a murder trial and listen as her killer made a vile, unsubstantiated accusation involving Polly during sentencing.
I cannot imagine the pain of having those wounds reopened after everything he’s already endured.
Prayers for Marc, for Polly’s loved ones, and for every family still carrying the grief of a child they should have been able to watch grow up.
Remember Polly. 🕊️
