Weekend snow totals: a few comments.
1. The 150cm @CoCoRaHSCanada observation in CBRM is closer to citizen's reports (than the 86cm at YQY).
2. HRM (30cm west, 50+cm east) seems more representative than the 85cm at YHZ.
3. Pictou L observer had drifting on snowboard.
4. Thanks

At @NASA we have dedicated teams who watch the skies to make sure we are safe from hazardous asteroids.
Today's asteroid flyby is one of the closest ever recorded, but our #PlanetaryDefense experts have been tracking the asteroid and know it's not a threat to Earth.
A newly discovered asteroid, named 2023 BU, is expected to make one of the closet approaches by a near-Earth object ever recorded. Thanks to diligent teams of #planetarydefense experts, we know It poses zero risk to Earth.

Snowfall Warning in effect for ALL of Nova Scotia now. Including additional snow on Saturday most will see 10 to 20 cm with some up to 30 cm. Brought the 20 to 30 cm range up into metro Halifax from my previous forecast.

Travel outlook: Today, Thur & Fri am are decent travel days within the Maritimes (few icy spots). A massive storm with a mix of precip & strong winds will impact travel & power thru ON-QC & NE USA Fri. Then same storm impacts Maritimes Fri aftn thru Sat am (pics), then OK 25-28??
