I’ve decided to streamline my social media this year and I think this one needs to go as so few people seem to notice it. If you still want to see what I get up to ask to follow me on Facebook or Instagram. Thanks to any of you who have taken the time to comment or like.
I start my journey tonight after a month away. I’m really looking forward to the Christmas lights of home. 💖
"I love returning home in the dark, to see the lights of my house shining. Like astronauts feel returning from the moon, travelling through space towards a waiting world. Soon I will be home, part once more of the indoor world of light and warmth." ~C.R.Milne #christmaslights
Looking forward to going home myself. 5 days till the journey begins.

A bit of art created this week. A collage of fish painted with oil pastels & acrylics .
I used a bit of neon and glitter but the camera doesn’t really capture that. It was fun!

Poetry charges up the imagination. 😊
Daily poetry prompt: What have you never seen?
Never seen a hyena with a vacuum cleaner,
never seen a goat in a boat.
Never seen a pike on a motorbike
but I've seen an anaconda on a Honda.

Friends don’t need to be asked- they just know. 🥰
Proving that it’s the taking part that counts! 😊
I wish I didn’t live so far away. 😕
Hope this gives you a smile to start the day. ☺️

Wondering if your father would have laughed at this:
My kid asked me "Where does poo come from?" I was a little uncomfortable but gave him an honest explanation. He looked a little perplexed, and stared at me in stunned silence for a few seconds then asked, "And Tigger?".
Oh yes. Time for a visit to an arboretum. 😍
"The earth had always seemed alive, the living home of countless plants and animals. Lying upon it she could feel it holding her up, powerful and reassuring beneath her body. Pressing her hands against it she could feel the living earth press back." ~C.R.Milne #SundayThoughts
An evening of merry mirth is guaranteed!
I’d join if I lived nearer. Do you?
Shrewsbury Morris Dancers are recruiting new women and men! Why not learn a new skill this autumn time, and have a go at Morris Dancing?
Maybe you have watched the colour, fun and enthusiasm of Shrewsbury Morris along with enjoying the infectious, foot-tapping music and thought to yourself – maybe I could do that?
Shrewsbury Morris meet every Thursday evening to hone their skills before dancing out and about in the spring and summer time. This means that autumn is the ideal time to take up this new interest.
Shrewsbury Morris are a large, friendly, group (they call themselves a team as they all work together) who welcome new members. No prior experience is needed as they will teach the steps, figures and how to clash sticks without causing injury!
Newcomers quickly become part of group of like-minded people who enjoy this fun form of exercise, which keeps every one fit, healthy and promotes well-being.
Apart from entertaining new audiences, dancing in new places along with having a sense of satisfaction and achievement when out performing, there is also a social side of joining Shrewsbury Morris.
If all of this isn’t enough, another good reason to take up Morris Dancing with Shrewsbury Morris is that it gives an interesting and unique talking point to any CV.
Did you know that dancing has been scientifically proven to make you smarter?
So come and have a go, on any Thursday evening at 8.15pm in the Blackburn Theatre at Prestfelde School, London Road Shrewsbury.
A warm welcome awaits and Shrewsbury Morris look forward to seeing you. If you are feeling a little bit shy then come with a friend or two?

Mmmm….i have a very tall tree over the road from my house! 🤞🏻
Pooh wandered into the Hundred Acre Wood, and was standing in front of what had once been Owl’s House. It didn’t look at all like a house now; it looked like a tree which had been blown down; and as soon as a house looks like that, it is time to find another one. ~A.A.Milne #wind
‘Isn’t it funny how a bear likes hunny.
Buzz buzz buzz, I wonder why he does?’
“Every piece of poetry has a music of its own which it is humming to itself as it goes along. Verses sing themselves into people’s heads and stay there for ever, so that even when they are alone and unhappy they have this music with them for company.” ~A.A.Milne #poetry
A book you and a young child might enjoy.
'Why Cats, Though?
Cats are famously independent and often impulsive—a bit like toddlers on a sugar rush. They knock things off counters without remorse. They play too rough. They hide when it’s bath time. But crucially, they’re not “bad.” Neither are the kids we raise. That’s where this book thrives: it helps young readers and the adults who read with them separate the deed from the doer.
Using cats in a court setting—a place we usually associate with judgment and punishment—is clever. Here, it becomes a stage for understanding, learning, and reflection. No gavel-smashing drama, just meaningful guidance through illustrated allegory.' - The Book Reviewer

I have returned from my Norway cruise where I worked (if you can call it that!) and played. I love what I do. 🥰
Isn’t it a shame we all have to grow up. 😕
Nobody knew why he was going; nobody knew where he was going. But somehow or other everybody in the Forest felt that it was happening at last. Even Smallest-of-all, a friend-and-relation of Rabbit’s, told himself that Things were going to be Different. ~A.A.Milne #backtoschool
