Got to hand it to the Tolkien Society, this is a heck of a great lineup that they've put together here! And tickets are free!
We are pleased to announce the programme for the Christopher Tolkien Centenary Conference! We are hosting the event for free, and online, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November.
You can find out more, and register, on our website.

I'm seeing a lot of interest in @tolkienprof's recent remarks about the concept of 'canon' with respect to Tolkien adaptations. Corey, @MaggieParke and I actually had a discussion on exactly this issue back in 2022 that people might find informative:

I'd forgotten that I'd ever recorded this. 😅
Happy #TolkienReadingDay!
For TRD 2022 we released a retelling of The Forging of the Rings and after the positive feedback decided to start on a part 2. However, it never got completed and for 2 years it was left to the side.
But 2 years later we have now put together a makeshift version of part 2 which is a retelling of 'Aldarion & Erendis' + 'The War of the Elves and Sauron' which includes some of your favourite Tolkien creators narrating!
Though it is still incomplete with some narration missing, we are still very happy with the outcome and if you would like to see the completed final version then let us know!

Who has high res versions of the photos from the premiere? I don't think I have them... @FellowshipFans

Tolkien on the phonetic/aesthetic aspects of languages (from "English and Welsh", published in "The Monsters and the Critics and Other Essays").
I was thinking of this quote listening back to this week's 'Exploring The Lord of the Rings'. @tolkienprof
My own (deeply unqualified) feeling on the relationship between sound and meaning in language is that it's likely reciprocal. We may choose sounds to mean things because they have intrinsic aesthetic qualities, but we're also influenced by the context of connections already made.
If you look at the replies, everyone has a different opinion of which alignment Tasha's amorality corresponds to, which is exactly why they declined to give her a strict alignment.
I'm glad that D&D is moving away from alignment (albeit it's still a fun part of D&D's cosmology).

Saturday 2/11 at 1 PM ET, I'll be hosting a special broadcast at which I will discuss Hope in Tolkien and raise money to help the relief efforts in Turkey. I'll be joined by folks from @OrtaDunyaCom and other special guests. Join at twitch.tv/signumu or @SignumU's YT.
This is great news...Legend of Vox Machina is such a unique and brilliant show. I'll definitely be anticipating this with great interest.
HERE IT IS! The big announcement today is that @CriticalRole’s Mighty Nein are heading to Prime Video!
Honestly these animated shows make me wish I was able to enjoy @CriticalRole's streaming content, but watching other people play RPGs is just not my cup of tea. #LegendOfVoxMachina has opened my eyes to see what all the fuss is about, though.
If there is misinformation going around, then Wizards of the Coast's own corporate Orwellian doublespeak, which has surrounded this whole debacle, is the primary factor which has caused it. #DnDBegone

When you get to the end of season three, I'd strongly recommend Glen Gabbard's book 'The Psychology of the Sopranos' (it was published before season four aired). I just read it last week!
Amazing show.
Glad to see #RingsofPower is adding representation to their cast in the form of plenty of new bald men!
But also disappointing to see stereotypes alive and well, with so many comments assuming that they're all going to be playing evil characters. 😂
🚨BREAKING: 8 new recurring cast members have joined the cast of #TheRingsOfPower for season 2!
Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb (Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch
