CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME LIKE I’M 5?
We switched to LED bulbs, bought energy efficient appliances, installed solar panels, built wind farms, turned off unused lights, and lowered the thermostat.
So why does the electric bill keep going up?
We did everything they told us to do.
Somehow, we’re using less energy just to pay more for it.
The only thing getting more efficient is how fast our money disappears.

End one idiotic policy – changing clocks twice per year – and make permanent the dumbest solution: so-called Daylight Savings Time. There is only one time, solar time. Normal time is closest to that. DST messes that up now permanently. xitter.gq/Breaking911/status/207…

I built CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities.
You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free.
I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded.

We Japanese witnessed this more than half a century ago when we fought against the Americans.
When one of their military aircraft was shot down and the pilot found himself adrift alone in the vast Pacific, they did not hesitate to send out a Catalina flying boat to search for him and rescue him, despite the risk of being shot down themselves.
We were not capable of doing that.
And so we were defeated.
In that sense, the Americans have not changed at all since those days.
That is precisely what makes them America.

I’m noticing a lot of foreigners who seem to not understand why we’d risk hundreds of lives, spend millions of dollars, and sacrifice several aircraft to rescue one guy. And the reason they don’t understand is also the reason people can’t be made American by a piece of paper.
