As the olive harvest begins, Palestinians in the #WestBank face settler violence, demolitions, economic collapse and now hunger is rising too. Food insecurity doubled and funding gaps have forced @WFP to cut half of those we assist. The world must step up diplomacy and resources.

Now is not the time for support and attention to drop. It is the time to step up, protect the gains made in Gaza, sustain the programs that have helped push back famine, and help families rebuild their lives.

There is no right answer to whose food assistance gets cut when nearly an entire population depends on it. I spoke to @BBCWorld about the impossible choices being made in Gaza and the international support needed now.

Life in Gaza remains brutal. WFP is being forced to cut monthly assistance for half a million Palestinians just as winter begins, when we should be scaling up. Near one of the meal kitchens in Gaza, I spoke with @AP about what this means for families. apnews.com/video/top-wfp-off…

The weapons may have changed, but the rules have not. Parties to conflict must still abide by IHL. At today’s #Brussels aid worker protection conference: we need systematic state backing and an end to impunity, in words and action. Thanks @eu_echo and @Ireland2026EU for convening

Central African Republic is doing everything right: building up local food systems, supporting farmers, investing in school meals. @WFP is at the forefront of these efforts. But without support, this progress could reverse. The world must step up for peace and development.

Excellent meeting with H.E. President @FA_Touadera in Bangui, following our #UNGA talk on the impressive national development plan, built on sustainable food systems and local empowerment. @WFP is a committed partner, starting with school meals. Glad to be here, working together.

On 2 Oct, one of our @WFP colleagues detained in Yemen was released. I am relieved that he is reunited with his family. My thoughts remain with all the humanitarian staff still detained, 37 from WFP. We continue all efforts to secure their immediate and safe release.

Horrific. A driver was killed while delivering food to families in Kadugli. The truck was clearly marked as humanitarian. We mourn his loss and extend condolences to his family. This is outrageous. Accountability and respect for humanitarian workers must be ensured.
WFP strongly condemns an aerial attack that hit two contracted trucks carrying WFP food commodities in South Kordofan on Saturday, 3 October 2026. One driver was killed in the air strike. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Full statement:

Millions of Yemenis are facing increasing hunger and displacement while growing insecurity and inadequate funding are making it difficult to deliver assistance. @WFP has been providing support but stocks are depleting. Without renewed funding, people will lose that lifeline.
Families in #Yemen are fleeing escalating fighting, some surviving on bread and soup made from whatever they can find. WFP’s @mfjhollingworth explains how teams are scaling up, and why urgent funding is needed before stocks run out. ⬇️
