Vix ulla tam iniqua pax, quin bello vel aequissimo sit potior - There is scarcely any peace so unjust that it is not better than even the fairest war. #Erasmus
Remembering the brave men who gave their tomorrows for our today with @WestKirbyGS
#WKGSY8 #DDay80 @ArromanchesDDay
We had the privilege of reading the simple Latin of the Bayeux Tapestry with a group of #WKGSY8 Latin students today at @BayeuxMuseum @BayeuxOfficiel. We spoke about Latin's use in the medieval period and how it was used as a lingua franca for both conqueror and the conquered.
Our prayer for the staff and students of @WestKirbyGS , past and present, at Notre-Dame de Bayeux on a beautiful, sunny day in Normandy. @WKGS_MFL #ChooseWKGS
The end of another day in the Latin department, and looking forward to the next.
"Nil sine magno vita labore dedit mortalibus" - Life gives nothing to people without great effort. #Horace
Halfway through the final flourish in our classroom transformation. #AdMetamContendo #ChooseLatin #ChooseWKGS @WestKirbyGS
Our new doorway inscription - peace to those who enter here, safety to those who leave, and blessings on those who study here. #KeepChattinLatin @WestKirbyGS
What a pleasure to welcome so many visitors to our new-look Latin base at @WestKirbyGS and to have so many positive conversations about our Classics offering. We look forward to seeing you all again before too long. #ChooseWKGS #KeepChattinLatin
Some more of our exact copies of genuine Pompeian graffiti now adorning the #B7 Latin base. @WestKirbyGS

More sneaky peaks at our classroom remodel, with a variety of genuine Pompeian election graffiti, and, in the same Roman handwriting, a tribute to a very special student.
When @WKGS_Latin heard that the classroom was getting a coat of white paint over the summer, plans for a classroom remodel got underway. Today, our first (of many) Pompeian election notices has been painted. Watch this space for the next ones!

A day late perhaps, but @WestKirbyGS #WKGSY11 #Latin students have been putting their study of #Roman love poetry to use and selecting their favourite quotations to adorn their #origami hearts.

We are delighted to announce that we are rated as the top state secondary school in the Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2024 for Wirral and Chester & Cheshire West.
We'd like to thank our fantastic school community of students, staff and parents/carers for making this possible.
Pat the Wolf 🐺💚 has been home with Mr Sweatman for a revamp - new stuffing, leak repaired, and new lettering and number made for his jacket. Looking at his best for the rest of the House Competitions this year. #GoPaton

End of the day in #Pompeii
ALT View over a stone public fountain up a wide Roman paved street that soon narrows and bends off to the right. The road is flanked on either side by stone and brick buildings and next to the fountain in the foreground is a tall water tower. The clouds are orange and white as the sun has stated to set.
Prayers for Jess's family and friends and for the healing and wellbeing of our whole school community at @BayeuxCathedral today with #WKGSY8 and @WKGS_MFL @WestKirbyGS
