Welcome to WOPA (Wimbledon Old Players Association). Here to remember and celebrate the contributions of former Wimbledon FC (to 28/05/02) and all AFC Wimbledon former players and staff. A resource to invite and reunite them at Plough Lane - the home of the Dons 🔵🟡
Much travelled maverick striker Paul Scott was often used as a substitute during AFC Wimbledon’s 2003/04 season and scored 11 goals from 12(20) games before moving on to Lewes and Whyteleafe. Welcome to WOPA Scotty 🔵🟡🤝 #617
Delighted to add current England U18 Head Coach and former AFC Wimbledon central defender Will Antwi onboard (Will made 43 Dons appearances between 2012-14 and is our special guest this Saturday v Wycombe Wanderers, another of his ex-clubs). Welcome to WOPA Will 🔵🟡🤝 #616
Many happy returns to our four WOPA members celebrating birthdays today: Mike Kelly (84), Terell Thomas (31), Elliott Bolton (25) and Paris Lock (22) 🔵🟡 🎂
Previously with Moneyfields and Reading, earning England U19 honours, goalkeeper Rose Kite spent the last two seasons as first choice for AFC Wimbledon Women before joining Farnham Town this summer. Welcome to WOPA @RoseKite2 🔵🟡🤝 #615
What a fantastic (and ongoing!) journey Mikey Haswell has been on with us. Wimbledon FC junior, AFC Wimbledon player, Foundation Ambassador and signing his own daughter’s ‘Haswell 3’ shirt 💙💛
Now back at Crawley Town after making 25 appearances and scoring four goals with AFC Wimbledon last season, striker Danilo Orsi began his career at Cockfosters before moving through the non-league ranks and into the EFL. Welcome to WOPA Danilo! 🔵🟡🤝 #614
Signed by Bobby Gould as an understudy to John Fashanu in 1987, Happy 60th Birthday to Robbie Turner 🔵🟡🤝
A very Happy 80th Birthday to Batsford Boy and former Wimbledon striker Roger Connell. A cult hero who helped the Dons win three successive Southern League titles and then become top scorer in our first Football League season. Have a great day Big Rog! 💙💛
Injury interrupted Layton Stewart’s loan spell with AFC Wimbledon last season, but the FC Thun striker managed five games for the Dons before returning to Switzerland. Welcome to WOPA @laytonstewart_ 🔵🟡🤝 #613
Very sad to hear that former Wimbledon kit manager Joe Dillon has passed away. Joe worked with Syd Neal for many years, joining the on-field celebrations at Wembley in 1988 and visited Plough Lane last year for the “Evening with John Scales”. Condolences to all who knew him 💙💛
If anyone is thinking about treating themselves to matchday hospitality for our Reading home game on Saturday week (22nd) get yourselves in the 1889 Lounge. We have five members of our 1982/83 Division Four Champions squad in attendance. There will be stories aplenty 😉

Huge thanks to Stewart who drove back from watching his son Leo playing for Middlesbrough last night to be our WOPA special guest. 🔵🟡🤝
Now a corporate lawyer, defender James Stenning made a handful of County Cup appearances at AFC Wimbledon during five years with the Dons, also making the first team bench twice in 2009/10 and later played for Welling United. Welcome to WOPA James 🔵🟡🤝 #612
