Assault on Kupyansk, November 15 Based on fragmented reports, the fighting is gradually shifting toward the Kupyansk industrial zone, which houses several large factories. The industrial zone spans nearly 500 hectares, much larger than those in Volchansk or Artyomovsk (Bakhmut). Fully clearing it at this stage seems unlikely—it’s currently more of a gray zone than territory under either side’s control. The outcome of the raid deeper into Kupyansk will depend on how many reserves Kiev forces are willing to commit to containing the Russian offensive in this area. As mentioned earlier, even intermediate results are still far off. For Kiev forces, losing this area would essentially mark the start of a full-fledged siege of the city—and eventually its loss. Therefore, they are likely to fight fiercely for this zone, potentially at the cost of other positions.
