Roosters honestly think they can get Walker for 1.2m a year. Premiership winning half money is about the 1.5m-1.6m mark minimum. Terrible lowball offer from uncle Nick. 😂 #NRL

To the cynics. As I said, I don't think we can afford the luxury of a World Cup that offers players in developing nations something to aim for OR one that promotes the sport internationally. We need to make money off existing fans and then spend that money on those things.

The other thing this World Cup has shown is that a lot of people who don’t like Rugby League, don’t watch RL or care about RL seem to have a lot of opinions on it.

That’s a common trait of the zealots on here They criticise the £30million investment and the expertise of the NRL, But they won’t apply the same critique to the administrators who have overseen a 50% education in UK broadcasting rights and RL going backwards in many ways
Found this part very interesting myself! Not sure what to make of Taylor. Listened to his appearance on the LE Podcast with Sadler and for all his moans about not receiving detail from the RFL, he didn’t actually provide any detail of what he intended to do either…

To the people talking down on the Rugby League World Cup blowouts needs some perspective. Mismatches happen in every sport when you're trying to grow the international game. That's where it starts. At this year's FIFA World Cup, Germany beat Curaçao 7–1 and Sweden beat Tunisia 5–1. Nobody said Curaçao shouldn't be there. They scored their first ever World Cup goal and their fans celebrated like they'd won it. At the 2023 Rugby World Cup: France 96–0 Namibia New Zealand 96–17 Italy Scotland 84–0 Romania Ireland 82–8 Romania South Africa 76–0 Romania New Zealand 73–0 Uruguay Rugby union didn't scrap its World Cup over it. And we've seen what happens in our own game when you give nations time. Tonga made the semis in 2017. Samoa made the final in 2022. Those teams didn't appear out of nowhere. They were built through years of playing the best. The blowouts are the price of growth. If you want a real international game, this is what the start looks like.
