"The law of works is the law to be done, that one may be saved; the law of faith is the law to be believed, that one may be saved; the law of Christ is the law of the Saviour, binding his saved people to all the duties of obedience, Gal. 3:12, Acts 16:31."

"I pray you neighbor Nomista be not so hot, neither let us have such unChristian-like expressions among us; but let us reason together in love, and with the spirit of meekness, 1 Cor. 4:21, as Christians ought to do. I confess with the apostle, 'It is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing,' Gal. 4:18. But yet, as the same apostle said of the Jews, so I fear I may say of some Christians, that 'they are zealous of the law,' Acts 21:20; yea, some would be doctors of the law, and yet neither understand 'what they say, nor whereof they affirm,' 1 Tim. 1:7."

It's interesting how the missionaries of the 19th and 20th Century Free Church of Scotland seeded nearly all the indigenous Reformed denominations in South America, India, Africa, and South Korea.

Just a friendly reminder that the permanent Republican majority lasted from 2004 to 2006. And the generational Democratic majority last from 2008 to 2010. Granted, that was a function of the choices both fleeting majorities made.
This stuff is just so historically ignorant, & it hopes you are to. There's *never* been a time where we've had actual Christian politicians.
Check the "Christianity" of average GOP Senator ca. 1960. It's indistinguishable from Talarico's garden-variety theological liberalism.
My dad worked there and helped build the GBT.

Also, outside of Virginia, conservative policies that were on the ballot won everywhere, even where D's won 60% majorities.
It's the economy, gas prices, and war. Always has been, always will be.
A lot of folks will want to make the Blue Wave about Trump's personal foibles and unfittedness as a human leader, but America doesn't care about any of that.
Last night was a failure of Retail Politics 101.
Just as much as Bush's wipeout in 2006, or Obama's in 2010 and 2014.
First election I can remember is my parents arguing in the car over Arch Moore and Clyde See. My dad refused to vote for Arch because he was a Republican, my mom wanted to vote for Arch because she knew his daughter Shelley.
