Today Solana is the fastest place to settle anything. Faster than Nasdaq, Visa, MasterCard, or any other exchange on earth. If you want to have global settlement at the cutting edge of speed, you now look to Solana as the undisputed standard.

I'm sure it's a bittersweet day for @toly - his innovations are being replaced with massive improvements, and Solana is winning.

Slot time has been decreased to 200ms. Solana is running at ~200ms since a while. It was widely thought this was going to cause troubles, but that's not what happened. We are few hours away from Alpenswitch, so it's useful to recap what happened 👇

Solana's tech was already #1 for scaled crypto use cases. With Alpenglow, Solana is now light years ahead. The audacity to replace the core mechanisms of the network while handling thousands of live TPS is uniquely Solana. Congrats to the @anza_xyz team on shipping.
