We cannot have sustainable energy because it threatens the oil industry. We cannot have healthcare because it threatens insurance. We cannot have peace because it threatens the weapons industry. Capitalism built a system where doing the right thing is treated like bad business.

Honestly scary how some people, including those in the media, don't seem to care anymore that the President of the United States is a rapist.

You had to be there. Summer of ‘94 was bonkers. “World Is Yours” Remix, “Buck’em Down” Remix, “I Used To Love H.E.R.” & this was all in heavy rotation

Biggie's 1997 “King of New York” photoshoot in its entirety -- snapped by Barron Claiborne.
Claiborne purchased several crowns for the photoshoot, only to find upon Biggie’s arrival that they were too big for his head. The $6 crown eventually used was only usable after the foam padding inside was removed.
It sold for $594,750 at a Sotheby’s auction in 2020.

🚨 HOT 97 New York radio drama continues, the new hosts Mero & Kazeem go off live on air about their bosses this week for 15 minutes straight unfiltered, while adding that their ratings are better than The Breakfast Club
- "the worst place I've ever worked at"
- "weekly meetings and there's the guy who makes 2 more 0s than you and youre like what does this guy even do... do not be discouraged we are in the era of independent media..."
- "this is the worst place I've ever worked at in my life... this board that's like 95 years old... I understand where Ebro Laura and Rosenberg are coming from..."
(via Hot 97 Youtube stream)
Peter Rosenberg breaks his silence after being fired by Hot97 19 years later and his show with Ebro being cancelled after 13 years🚨
"Almost 19 years later it comes to a close ... longest tenured morning host ever at the station. Became friends with my heroes. The future is very exciting but I'm filled with gratitude for the past. Ebro plucked me out of obscurity in DC and put this mic in my hand. No imagine this. I'm a hip hop kid from DC. Summer Jam was like a figment of my hip hop imagination and I just showed up and was handed a mic and told to go interview these giants. And then I stayed for almost 20 years. I made mistakes, said dumb things, had bad takes BUT for the most part I kept it completely true to the backpacker who dreamed of getting to the big leagues and pushing the culture forward. Two days ago I introduced Rakim on stage (for the 3rd or 4th time) ... Flex DJ'd my wedding. Alongside Cipha Sounds I created the hip hop podcast genre. I made lifelong friends like Laura Stylez Kast One Juanyto Shani Kulture and so many others (whole team you know what's up). The run is psychotic.
Thank you God. And to the people who used to be at Hot and the few that remain who truly care about the brand and the culture -- I hope I mostly made you proud."
