“People are allowed a glass or two” 🙄 Er…. It may not be wise, but given alcohol is (still) legal, I’m pretty sure he meant: “people are allowed as many glasses as they bleeding well want to get through the disasters my government has created”
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham criticises Angela Rayner for including a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in her survival kit “I’m not sure that’s the top of the list… You need to have a clear head in a challenging situation. Some tins of food, bottled water. People are allowed a glass or two”

Is this him admitting he turned off Starlink / Starshield on a whim?
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

While it’s easy to knock down the argument being presented, the bigger question is ‘can a nation rely on this technology not to be switched off if the CEO decides he doesn’t support the fight any more?’

I am beginning to think that “superpower suicide” understates the case.

So after the inevitable orgy of “let them go” and “we don’t want people like that here”, what is the plan for actually covering the taxes they paid?

How terrible on every level. Terrible for the family, for the Christians of Jordan, and for the Kingdom of Jordan, which has been such a safe haven in a turbulent region.

It was telling in Egypt that every monastery had a keep - and actual fortress in which to hide should they come under attack. Christians know that their survival is utterly contingent on the goodwill of their neighbours, and that when that dries up, they die.

In 2025, we published a bold proposal to use fusion reactors for gold production. And now we’ve done it: Mercury transmuted into stable gold, using fusion neutrons, at 10x the record set by CERN in 2025. We’ve reduced alchemy to a series of difficult but tractable engineering problems.

A guy literally shot the pope, very notably wasn't beheaded, was visited and forgiven by the same pope, and later became a Christian himself
So if two people were caught having illicit sex in a church people will just look, laugh and pass? 🤔

🚨Sneaked out by OFGEM this morning, a warning for the first time EVER they cannot guarantee that demand will be met on a peak day in winter. Let’s be clear what that means. They cannot guarantee that homes will be warm, lights come on or industry function on a peak day this winter. And why? Because of an accelerated decline in domestic gas supply from the North Sea. So what is the solution? For British bill payers to pay more, to IMPORT more from Europe (specifically Belgium) to keep the lights on in Britain. Britain. A country with vast supplies of gas, untapped, deliberately due to Labour policy now going cap in hand to Europe and paying vast sums to import foreign gas. It is utterly outrageous. You couldn’t make it up. ofgem.gov.uk/sites/default/f…
