The next game challenge on #MiSTerFPGA Discord is Elemental Master for the Genesis/MD!
This top-down shooter has some horror themes that I thought would be fun for a Halloween challenge this year.
Single credit score challenge starts now and goes until November 1st. Have fun!

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

We’ve been working on this the entire year and our first FPGA handheld is almost done. Plays GB, GBC, and GBA carts. Huge FPGA to power cores up to PS1 and N64. Up to 4K HDMI output via an affordable dock. Unbeatable latency. Open source. From $1_ _ at launch.

It's a shame the FPGA emulator scene is flooded with AI slop, but it won't stop my work. I'm still passionate about boards and chip architectures, because software analysis and measurements have limits. I just want to automate tasks that don't need humans so I can contribute more

CV1k core was the first core I built using AI agents. I plan to write an article later explaining how I used it to handle the hardware architecture and two sub-projects, how I worked with the actual hardware, and how I was ultimately able to push the MiSTer FPGA to its limits.
Recorded a video of RC de Go! on #MiSTerFPGA's PlayStation core, using the Hori ZeroTech RC racing controller:

Awesome game with a great soundtrack by Zuntata. At the end I show my only clear of the championship mode's insane Special 1 course.

The #FMTowns #Marty core on the #MiSTerFPGA is super playable and also runs regular Towns software that exceed it's normal ram and CPU specs.
MIDI works too for those with an MT-32Pi

This one has some very nice effects with great use of the C64 palette. The spiral scroller with cylindrical core is awesome.
