Far too many people have forgotten that to “dry” a Martini simply meant to use dry vermouth instead of the prerequisite sweet (50/50). It wasn’t until post-prohibition that the misunderstanding began, AND the loss of orange bitters. 🍸

For the record, my goal in ‘05 w the 50/50 martini was to get folks back to vermouth- its use had become extinct in American cocktails. That was the whole point of it and am damn proud of it too- just look at how that seed grew into its own craft vermouth industry, & flourished.
