Onslow supremacy
Its hard to imagine where weather/storm chasing will be in 10+ years.
10 years ago, I would have never imagined it would be the way it is now. The way its evolved, with streaming, youtubers, weather apps, AI composite blob maps taking the last bit of skill needed out of the equation etc etc...
The "old folks" wish it would go back to the way it was.
The younger, newer generation will never understand how the changes feel. Its easy for them to say "welp, its just how it is now" since thats all they know.
But...in 10+ years...how else will it change? One day, yall will see what we mean when we reminisce and look back.
Im 50/50 on it all. 50% salty the easy paths to success we have now didn't exist when I was 20 years old, and 50% glad I probably only have 10-15 good years left anyways, so I wont have to worry or deal with the future (de)evolution.
But through it all, there are still moments you can have mostly to yourself such as Onslow, IA 4-14-26. They're becoming rarer, however. Bag em now, cherish em forever.

TRAVEL ALERT/Charleston:
This is for Monday morning, Oct 26th.
According to our ABC News 4 Chief Meteorologist Dave Williams, the biggest impact for most of us will be the astronomical high tides, especially the morning cycle which will likely make it to the Major Coastal Flooding level. Monday is the full moon. The highest high tide will be Monday morning. High tide is 8:18am and could rise to 8.3’. This will have big impacts on the morning commute.
Do not drive through flooded roads!

Just had to come back, because the weight of what yall have helped me do is sinking in. My stars SOMEHOW have aligned, I'll be going to trident and transferring into CofC, for a very affordable over all price, and getting my full actual bachelors degree. It was me showing THIS to my husband and parents that kicked the party off, too. I always just assumed "single income house, cant afford it". It seemed completely unobtainable.
Turns out its extremely, specifically, perfectly obtainable. My parents are over the moon. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it, and my husband has moved heaven and earth ensuring I'll have the resources I need. It's a dream come true.
You took 30 seconds to answer me, and because of that I'm back in school pursuing a bachelor's degree in meteorology.
so seriously. I don't think you realized you changed my ENTIRE future, and my... thoughts on what I thought I was actually capable of doing... with one reply <3 You guys are phenomenal @NWSCharlestonSC

8 months ago I broke my back. 8 months later I just ran my first ever 10k race and smashed my goal time by 10 minutes!! Suffering from severe depression quietly leading up to my accident I lacked motive to go to the gym, I was gaining weight and just not feeling myself until my accident. There’s something when you face a moment where you fear your life is changed forever and then when you walk away from it your whole perspective on a lot changes. Chasing storms for a living I see how fragile life can be to others and I never take it for granted. But when it stares you in the face and you get a second chance you realize you need to use it for everything it’s worth.
I no longer (unless running behind) use the auto walkways at airports, I walk instead of sitting, I walk even to close stores and I have had a goal for the last decade that I put off until my accident happened and my weight has cratered back to 204 from 227 and I’m chasing it down one way or another. Day by day I’m feeling myself again, my confidence is coming back, and there’s a lot of bright opportunities on the horizon. Let’s get it.
