gm creators, yesterday, i talked about @FungoLabs & its approach to encrypted NFTs. today, let’s get into how it actually works. you know how we normally have to decrypt something before we can access or work with what’s inside ?? well, Fungo is taking a different approach with Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). it’s powered by Zama’s FHEVM. here’s the simple explanation: FHE allows smart contracts to perform operations on encrypted data without having to decrypt or expose the actual information. so, the data stays encrypted, even while the contract is working with it. now, think about what this means for Fungo. when a Fungo NFT is minted, its artwork {the look} & hidden attributes {the essence} are encrypted from the start. the randomness used to generate them also happens on-chain, meaning nobody gets to choose what you receive, not even the team. and bcos of Zama’s tech, the contract can work with encrypted info without exposing what’s inside. i find this approach interesting bcos it changes how we think about privacy on-chain. you don’t necessarily have to expose everything just to make use of what’s on the blockchain. love how Fungo Labs is exploring this ;)

spent some time looking into what @FungoLabs genesis holders actually get, and i think there’s more to the arrangement than having a JPEG sitting in your wallet. here are a few things i picked up: > 20% of Fungo Labs Launchpad revenue goes into a Genesis pool, shared equally among all 3,232 NFTs. holders can claim their share in ETH, $ZAMA and tokens from collections launched on the platform. > there’s also a share of future launches. genesis holders are entitled to at least 5% of the token supply of every collection launched on the Launchpad. this can go as high as 20%. so the more collections that make their way onto the platform, the more opportunities Genesis holders have to receive a portion of their tokens. > then there’s the team’s allocation. revenue generated by the team’s Genesis NFTs goes towards FUNGO buybacks and burns. the team doesn’t collect that revenue for itself. what i find interesting is how the Genesis collection is tied to the growth of the Launchpad. rather than the NFT existing on its own, its holders have a defined share in the activity happening around the ecosystem. ofc, how much value this creates will depend on the Launchpad, the collections that come through & the revenue they generate. but i like that there’s an actual structure behind the ownership. anyway, that’s one part of Fungo Labs i’ve been looking into.

there’s something different about how @FungoLabs is handling its Genesis auction. most auctions let you see what’s happening with other people’s bids, but Fungo takes a different route. let’s break it down: 1) bids are kept private: the auction has 2,500 Genesis NFTs available, and bids are placed in cZAMA (the confidential version of ZAMA). - your bid price is encrypted - the quantity you’re bidding for is encrypted too - other participants can’t see what you’ve submitted everything is encrypted right in your browser. 2) everyone winning pays the same price: this is where the auction gets interesting. once bidding closes, all bids are ranked, and the lowest winning bid that fills the 2,500 NFT allocation determines the clearing price. meaning, everyone who wins pays that same final price, regardless of how much they initially bid. any excess amount is refunded. 3) so how do you approach your bid? rather than trying to figure out what everyone else is offering, you simply decide what the NFT is worth to you and bid accordingly. there’s no need to adjust your bid based on someone else’s visible offer. imo, this makes the bidding process quite different from the usual auction experience. a few things to keep in mind: - 2,500 NFTs are available through the auction. - bids are paid in cZAMA. - the auction closes today at 15:30 UTC. Fungo is using encryption here for more than just the NFTs themselves. even the process of bidding has been designed around keeping participants’ offers private. yep, that’s how the Fungo Genesis sealed-bid auction works.

i’ve seen quite a few people being bearish on @FungoLabs lately, and tbh, i understand that market conditions aren’t helping. some are questioning how far the project can go, while others aren’t entirely convinced about the airdrop or so. but looking at what the team has been doing, i have a few reasons why im still bullish on Fungo. here’s my take: 1) the approach to growth: one thing i noticed was how short the X campaign actually ran. just 3 days. in a space where projects can stretch campaigns for many weeks or even months, constantly pushing users to farm points & chase rewards, Fungo kept its campaign relatively short. im not saying a short campaign means a better project, but i prefer seeing the focus move towards what is being built rather than keeping everyone occupied with farming activities. 2) the people already paying attention: we’ve seen @AnonVee_ openly acknowledge Fungo & the support coming from Zama’s side. even Zama’s founder has publicly spoken about buying OG NFTs, holding on to them & donating the airdrops he receives to the Zama DAO. i think that says something about the level of attention the project is receiving within the ecosystem. ofc, big accounts talking about a project doesn’t guarantee its success, but it’s still good to see people close to the ecosystem taking an interest fr. 3) communication from the team: another thing i appreciate is how the team has been communicating. there have been regular updates around the Genesis collection, auction, refunds & holder benefits. even with the auction & its different mechanics, they’ve continued putting out info to help people understand what’s happening. i’d rather see a team consistently communicating what they’re doing than one that only shows up when there’s something to promote. 4) the tech itself: this is probably one of my biggest reasons for being bullish. Fungo isn’t only putting together another pixel-art NFT collection. they’re building around Zama’s Fully Homomorphic Encryption technology, bringing encrypted artwork, hidden NFT attributes & confidential bidding into the picture. think about it, bros: - NFT contents that aren’t automatically visible to everyone. - hidden attributes that remain encrypted even from the team. - sealed-bid auctions where participants can’t see each other’s offers. and there’s a bigger plan involving the Launchpad and a game built around the hidden NFT attributes. that’s quite a bit more to explore beyond the Genesis collection. 5) interest in the Launchpad: another update that got me excited is the no of projects showing interest in the Fungo Labs Launchpad. according to the team, over 3,000 projects have already applied to launch on the platform. i think it’s a good early signal of the interest surrounding what Fungo is building. the real test will be how many of these projects make it onto the Launchpad & what kind of activity they bring with them. if even a portion of those applications turns into successful launches, it could give the ecosystem quite a bit to build on. my overall take: im not going to pretend everything is guaranteed to work out. the Launchpad still has to turn those 3,000+ applications into actual launches, generate activity & deliver on the benefits promised to Genesis holders. but i also don’t think a project’s potential should be judged solely by current market sentiment. there’s interesting tech being developed, early interest from projects and a team that has been communicating its progress. personally, i want to see what happens when all these pieces start coming together. still bullish on Fungo Labs.
