Many always compare Bitcoin to a broken fiat system. But just because fiat was corrupted by central banks and a loophole that let bankers and the wealthy extract value from citizens, doesn’t mean the idea of decentralized money through national currencies is wrong. In fact, that model makes more sense than one global currency. At the same time, we were pushed to see the digital world as progress. Spend more time online. Build your life around it. Now we’re told AI is better than humans at nearly everything. Layer by layer, the physical world gets devalued. The digital one, overhyped.
 And now? AI, digital currencies, surveillance, identity… it’s all converging. What looked like freedom might end up the most sophisticated cage we’ve ever built.

I’ve been in this space since 2016. I’ve seen a lot of cycles, a lot of hype and a lot of disappointment… for users, for builders well… for everyone who genuinely believed this tech could change something fundamental. And right now, it feels like we’re sitting in the aftermath of a long, confusing party that no one really enjoyed. What’s left? A market that doesn’t trust new launches. Founders that are burned out or checked out. Only a handful of products that „work“ and a huge mountain of dead tokens that never should’ve existed. And I get it. The last few years trained people to optimize for something else entirely. Fit the narrative. Launch fast. Hit a high FDV. Let someone else be the exit liquidity. That became the default playbook. Not because all founders were evil, but because the incentives made it rational. You had to raise fast before the hype moved on. You had to make a token part of the story before the product was ready. Otherwise, the capital disappeared. The „few“ users disappeared. The attention disappeared. Narrative became a feature. No one asked if the thing actually needed to exist. And now the people who lived off that narrative momentum…even the ones who played it well… are exhausted. There’s no one left to dump on. New retail isn’t showing up. Even the best traders are having hard times. It’s quiet. Meanwhile, the original beliefs… the ones that brought many of us in… feel distant. Decentralization. Censorship resistance. Ownership that can’t be revoked. The next era of the internet. Most of it hasn’t materialized. Not in a way that anyone outside of our little bubble can point to and say: “Yes, that matters.” Instead, the only things that still hold some legitimacy are the parts that exist for some time: - stablecoins that people actually use - DEXes that make money - a few DeFi systems that haven’t blown up yet And let’s talk about developer adoption. Ten years after Ethereum, and with billions poured into infra, we have… ~22k active Web3 devs. Compared to ~29M in Web2. That’s a complete failure. We didn’t make it easy enough. Or fun enough. Or rewarding enough. Most of the world’s best engineers still look at crypto and don’t see a place they’d want to build in. Add to that the transparency trap. We wanted everything to be open, auditable, transparent. But now we’re seeing the other side of that: wallets being surveilled, financial activity being weaponized. We get told that privacy is something only „criminals“ care about. Blockchain will need privacy - real privacy - if it’s going to survive. But how do we add that without becoming completely opaque? How do we balance transparency with protection? I don’t have all the answers. But my few cents: We can’t keep launching tokens on promises. We can’t keep pretending the next airdrop will solve the incentive problem. We can’t keep onboarding users through speculation alone - and then act surprised when they disappear the moment the price dips. If we want to rebuild anything, we have to start from what’s real. That means: build something first. Make it work. Show that at least some users or projects care. Then - and only then - talk about launching a token. And when you do, let it be fair. Let it be priced by the public, not insiders. That’s the approach we’re taking with PWR. Only now - as the tech works - are we thinking about what a launch could look like. And even then, it’s going to be open, on-chain & accessible from day one. I’m not saying this is the only way. I’m not even saying it’s the best way. But it feels like the right way for us… given everything we’ve seen. Web3 still has a chance to be something better.
