One week to go until our Remembrance game against Blackpool, and we're turning the North Stand into a giant poppy display. Sat in the North Stand on Sunday 1st? Be in your seat early, find your flyer and hold it up when asked. Let's make it one to remember. #SWFC #LestWeForget

Sheffield Wednesday are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former goalkeeper Peter Wicks at the age of 78. Peter made his Owls debut at just 16 years of age in January 1965, making him the club’s third youngest ever appearance maker 🦉 Our thoughts are with Peter's family and friends at this very difficult time 💙 swfc.co.uk/news/2026/october…

ONE YEAR ON. A year ago today, thousands of Wednesdayites stayed away from Hillsborough for the home game against Middlesbrough. The boycott sent a clear message. Supporters had simply had enough and wanted change. Looking back twelve months on, it was arguably the final straw for the former chairman. A powerful demonstration of just how far things had gone and how strongly supporters felt about the direction of our football club. The boycott was just one part of a much wider effort. Months of protests, campaigns and countless hours of voluntary work from Wednesdayites who simply wanted better. A year on, there’s still plenty of work ahead, but the difference in where we find ourselves today is remarkable. Twelve months ago, we were demanding a better future for Sheffield Wednesday. Today, we have the opportunity to build one. Never underestimate what Wednesdayites can achieve when we pull together. Nothing is Insurmountable. #SWFC

A year ago today, Sheffield Wednesday supporters boycott their home match v Middlesbrough. A show of strength. Talks had been taking place behind the scenes to move the club into administration for nearly two weeks, with Chansiri holding out against legal advice. Read at the time was that it had got to the point that administration was inevitable, even for someone as unpredictable as DC. The walls were closing in on stadium debt in particular and money wasn’t coming in to hold out until January. Such a vivid protest certainly didn’t hurt. #SWFC🦉
The scene at Hillsborough as the pre-match music starts to kick in. Huge numbers of Sheffield Wednesday fans have chosen to boycott tonight’s match v Middlesbrough. #SWFC🦉

I have met Rhiannon’s mum several times. I’m disgusted at how she has been treated by Labour. Keir Starmer refused to meet her. This lady’s daughter was murdered by an illegal immigrant & yet MPs shrug it off. 😔
On the 2-year anniversary of Rhiannon Whyte’s attack, her mother Siobhan talks about the justice she seeks for her daughter. GB News National Reporter @_jack_carson reports. 📺 Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin 604

When a young mascot got so scared before a City game and didn’t want to walk out with the players. Jack Grealish spotted this, calmed the young boy down and said that he’d walk out with him and make sure he’d be ok and they’d have fun. 🥹 A class act! 👏

At the @SheffChildrens auction last night before auctioning off the Sheffield Wednesday Lion the gentleman introducing expressed hope that the new owners of @swfc would support the Children’s Hospital which the prior owner hadn’t. Please know that for as long as I remain the proud Chairman and owner of our amazing club, @swfc + me will be reliable patrons of @SheffChildrens. Their work is so important… I will always support their efforts as they work tirelessly to provide world class treatment and care today + long into the future for the kids + families who depend on them. I stand alongside @bazzabannan25 and his incredible support for @SheffChildrens. @SheffChildrens is a very important part of the broader Sheffield community which has been kind to embrace @michaelestorch and me, plus our friend Tom Costin and the investors he brought along as we together with the telented and committed team @swfc work day and night to return the club to its historic glory. And make no mistake… we will! When passing or entering our beloved Hillsborough, I invite each and everyone of you as you gaze at the beautiful artistry of Zoe Burger and her Sheffield Wednesday Lion and Lioness you stop for a moment and think of the kids + families who depend on the Hospital and the remarkable staff that works there, stop for a moment, say a prayer or two for successful outcomes everyday. Good morning, hope you have a brilliant day & weekend, from 1969 this is the famous football scene from Kes. *The bandage on Brian Glover’s knee was actually a wrestling injury picked up as his alter ego Leon Arras (the man from Paris) earlier in the week.

When my mum was found 10 hours after falling and breaking her hip we were asked if we could bring her to A&E ourselves, and if not I could expect to wait six hours. It was seven in the end. You have no idea how angry this makes me.
A convoy of ambulances now arriving for the migrant boat arrival in Gosport, Portsmouth Harbour. That’s on top of the police operations from Hampshire, Kent, Thames Valley and Dorset Police. The cost to the tax payer must be absolutely astronomical

Saint & Greavsie clip from today in 1991, with Gabriel Clarke visiting struggling Fourth Division Aldershot. Here we meet club secretary Steve Birley, who slept in his office to cut costs. Proof that beneath the banter, S&G was a terrific magazine show.
