Something I love about the East Coast: 1-hour train ticket from Boston to Providence is about $12. #Boilerup #March

This is maddening. I can't imagine what IDS journalists are feeling right now -- learning that your weekly print edition is vanishing, via a PRESS RELEASE? And seemingly, Purdue admin aren't being much kinder. Keep it up, PeX! 💪💪💪 bit.ly/405gJHI

Google searches for "What is a Boilermaker?" spiked on Saturday night, especially in North Carolina. #Boilermakers #Purdue #BoilerUP

The FOMO I have not being in Arizona or West Lafayette this weekend is real. Hosting a watch party on Monday, but in the meantime, having a blast watching reporting of the scenes on campus and at the game!!! 🎉🎉🎉 #BoilerUp #HammerDown #HailPurdue #OurHouse

Thought I was clever asking my sister (on campus) to snag me a copy yesterday. She pretty quickly let me know that that'd be tough, since Monday's edition practically evaporated from newsstands already. Just ordered a couple copies. Go Boilers, and go student journalists!
Here it is: the Final Four Commemorative Edition! This special reprint has the same iconic front page, and Final Four coverage, but we added some exclusive game photos that haven't yet been printed. The link to donate is tinyurl.com/ExponentFinalFou… and copies are limited to 10/person

living in New England when there's a tornado watch really brings out the Midwestern "better go sit out on the porch and watch what happens" in me

Fire in Faith Lutheran Church on Broadway in Cambridge now. Big crowd watching firefighters climb ladders + break in glass windows to reach the flames.

and I was just getting into a good rhythm with my bus -> train commute too, huh
Effective immediately, out of an abundance of caution, the Red, Orange, Blue, & Green Lines will operate at speeds of 10-25mph following findings by the Department of Public Utilities during a recent site visit of the Red Line between Ashmont & Savin Hill.

my desire to tweet dropped off immediately after leaving newsrooms. As did my stress levels! I miss some things about journalism but it also feels sweet to leave the office and get to spend the holidays sans anxiety about what *news* might happen to demand my attention

there should be a ball store. I'm trying to find somewhere between Cambridge and Boston (on the Green Line) to buy a basketball and it's more difficult than it should be. Pls share ball store recs

Upside of taking a Green Line shuttle: walking to the bus stop and getting to pass by the sign 🔺

Why @MBTA gotta do this when I was just getting used to taking the T to work every day? 🥲

✨career change✨ Saturday was my last day at the Wareham Week, and today is my first as a digital communications associate at The Chestnut Hill School! I'm leaving journalism for a while -- but I'm excited to continue telling stories in a new environment.

I have a lot of thoughts about leaving journalism, so if other young reporters/writers wanna chat, reach out. I've loved working in newsrooms for the last five years, but I need a change, for many reasons. Also, I can't express my excitement enough of having weekends back✨

unrelated to today's news but RE: Buckingham Palace Something Peter and I found interesting was a group of kids on bikes in front of the palace's side gates, who were teasing the very-armed police on the other side.

Kids/teens were biking around and calling out to the guards, stuff like "do those guns have bullets in them?" and "are you going to shoot me?" but very clearly in a joking, curious-kid way. At some point police told kids (politely) to move so gates could open.

Peter and I were just thinking, we couldn't imagine hearing that here. Kids ended up backing up with laughter after a bit, and the day carried on, but definitely stuck in my head.
