I made compend.org. It's a Letterboxd-style review site for all earthly things. It just seemed like a fun idea. I'll keep adding features if people use it, probably.

this is a gr8 example of what i mean when i say a YTPMV has to never breach 75-80% sonic accuracy. get the pitch right, but i should still be able to hear that it's a sample you're struggling a lil to manipulate. recreate sounds too accurately & it loses the fun! a very good vid

For fifty eight years, my boss in Tokyo believed that beef should be sliced as thin as paper.
In Japan, we cook thin meat for four seconds in boiling broth. That is our way.
Then last month, the YouTube algorithm showed Director Sato a video of a man in Texas smoking a brisket.
It changed his life.
On Monday morning, he called me to his desk. His eyes were bloodshot.
"Have you seen this?" he whispered, turning his monitor toward me. "The American pitmaster does not sleep for sixteen hours. He sits by the fire in the dark. He guards the meat like a castle."
I said, "Sir, it is just a barbecue."
He slammed his hand on the desk.
"This is not cooking," he said. "This is a vigil."
Last Saturday was our annual company picnic by the river in Kanagawa. Normally, we grill thin meat and yakisoba for two hours and go home at 2:00 PM.
I arrived at 9:30 AM to help set up.
Director Sato was already there.
I want to be accurate here: he had been sitting in a folding chair since 10:00 PM on Friday night. He was wearing a towel around his head and staring at a massive black barrel smoker he had imported from Oklahoma.
Inside I said: THIS MAN HAS ABANDONED CORPORATE LIFE FOR THE SMOKE.
When we tried to help him, he held up a pair of metal tongs and clicked them twice.
"Step back," he said calmly. "The stall has begun. Nobody opens the lid."
Twelve Japanese accountants stood in complete silence around a barrel for four more hours. Nobody dared to eat a single noodle until he gave the signal.
At 1:45 PM, he sliced the meat. It fell apart on the cutting board.
My boss looked at the pink smoke ring, nodded once, and wiped a single tear from his cheek.
He has already submitted an official budget request for a trailer smoker for next fiscal year.

I met a perverted freak who goes down on women. He said "I make those bitches toes curl". I sneered and said if I wanted to make my wife's toes curl I'd drop a house on her. The whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth you'd think I was the one who performed cunnilingus

The Supreme Court burns to the ground in Albania, Parliament and the Department of Education has been stormed, the Prime Minister is in hiding and the country is effectively in the hands of the rebels.
Albania rejects blatant corruption and their country being sold.

The “medbed” phenomenon is not talked about nearly enough. Elderly QAnon acid casualties actually believe that there are magical beds that can heal their ailments and Trump has posted videos feeding into this. If this was in some tinpot African dictatorship people would mock it.

Otzi made the fatal mistake of being a crooked Boss Hogg type character before police were invented, so when all the villagers got tired of his constant schemes they just killed his ass...

[STAND BY ME] This is like some crazy pedophilic idealization of life before puberty, or perhaps it's just male narcissism about what sensitive boys we were. (1986)

Least popular world leader. Worst polling on record. Elected by an Israeli slush fund to sell the entire state to Palantir brokered by a paedophile Mossad agent. Cyclical race riots. Government on the brink of collapse. Solution?

Everyone posting about how they would have and the owner of the house should have shot this guy is essentially the same kind of dude as the guy in the video, a suburban dork fantasizing that one day they’re going to get to be the star of an action movie and hurt somebody

why do you have to wonder that. the answer to that has been well known for a long long time. why don't you just spend 30 seconds looking it up . why are you walking around wondering about questions you could easily answer
