Last week I was on the beaches in Normandy. Such an eerie place when you see the scale of what those young soldiers would have to do. D-Day June 6th 1944
Recently listened to Hand of Abbadon by @NickKyme. Wasn't sure about the DOF series at first, seemed disjointed. It's come together over the last few books and I'm really enjoying the series. HOA has some great characters to move the series forward.

Haven't really had time to model or paint this last year. Instead I've done a lot of reading or audible. Just finished Baneblade by @GuyHaley . Brilliant. Spent too much time listening to it instead of doing real world things. Great characters and action.

Not sure why the acolyte is getting so much hate. I've really enjoyed it. New fresh characters and some great action scenes, especially in the latest episode. I'd enjoy more from that era and hopefully other new characters.
That Triaros, oh, that Triaros.

Praise the Omnissiah!
New plastic miniatures are on the way for the Cult Mechanicum. It's only logical to take a closer look: ow.ly/e27x50RIHPW

A Sunday thought:
Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture.
The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.
But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.
A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. “Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."
We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized.

Off for one of my very rare nights out tonight to see Bat Sabbath at Rebellion. Feel like this year I need to start getting more than a few gigs in over the course of the year. Great way to start it.
RIP J.P.R. Williams. Only last week I found this from 1988 when I got his autograph. Legend and gentleman.
Really enjoyed this awesome chunk of a sculpt. Might go back for some small details at a later date but calling him done for now. Something so satisfying about painting DG.

Another of my favourite characters. Ebay rescue and had to bash a few bits but made a start on his cloak

Finally made some hobby time today after a less than prolific 2023 due to life stuff. Had this in my pile for years and love this character. So happy to finally get around to starting him.
