Thirty-one monitors surrounded him. Half were scrolling green PHP, the ancient code holding the whole Bizarro World internet together with duct tape and prayer. The other half showed the same goddamn thing: a smiling yellow blob in a banana hat sitting at a picnic with baskets of eggs, looping forever. "That's their firewall," Tommy muttered, lighting a cigarette. "A happy fucking picnic." Bizarro World doesn't run on modern servers. It runs on one PHP box from 2006 that Perry White calls "the Mainframe" and Jimmy calls "the computer." Every #BROKENnews post, every #HappyHedgehog, and every 3-view hit piece goes through it. The password was "password," spelled backwards, because Bizarros do everything backwards. Tommy didn't even have to hack it. He just typed "drowssap" and the picnic blob waved him in. What he found inside was worse than he imagined: A folder called NEWS_IMPORTANT with 4,000 drafts, all starting with "#ThatJustOut." A file called engagement.php that did nothing but add one view to every post. That explained a lot. Clark's spellchecker module, which had been commented out since 2019 with the note "me no need." A cron job that made Dayli post at 5:36 AM every day, whether anything happened or not. Tommy didn't break anything. That's not the hedgehog way. He did something far crueler. He set up a mirror. Every time a Bizarro hit "post," a copy went straight to the Floofy News newsroom, timestamped, view count and all, so nobody could ever delete a dumb post before the paper caught it. Then, on all thirty-one screens at once, the picnic blob froze, its banana hat drooping, and the screens flipped one by one to the front page of Floofy News: a cranky hedgehog in a hoodie, smoking, staring dead into the camera. Across Bizarro World, Jimmy yelled "PERRY! THE COMPUTER AM WORKING!" Perry said that was bad. Jimmy said that was good. They were both wrong. Back in the bunker, Tommy leaned back, blew smoke at the PHP rain, and typed the headline for No. 92: "BIZARRO MAINFRAME CRASHES UNDER WEIGHT OF ITS OWN BULLSHIT. SPELLCHECK STILL MISSING." He hit print. Somewhere a picnic blob cried into its egg basket. Floofy News was going to press, as it always would.
