ALT A little tidbit here: We officially broke a 27-day streak without measurable rainfall for Wichita (which started September 24). The last time we had a dry spell this long was earlier this year from February 9 through March 6 which was also a 27-day streak. And the last time we had a dry spell that long, prior to the one earlier this year, occurred just last year from August 15 to September 10, which was ALSO a 27-day streak.
Let's get some rain!
A few severe storms will be possible after 2 pm for locations west of Interstate 135. The stronger storms will be capable of producing ping pong ball sized hail, 50 to 60 mph winds and a brief tornado. The severe weather threat is expected to diminish after sunset. #kswx
