Lot of companies talking about "expansion" and "presence" being hard in Canada if C-22 passes.
We are based here in Canada. We can't flip a switch to turn off our Canadian presence.
If this bill passes, we have to fully leave the country to continue operating our VPN business
Swiss tech-privacy company Proton says lawful-access bill makes expansion into Canada ‘impossible’

Hahaha Ofcom, the UK regulator (aka censorship committee) has tried to fine 4chan for like a year now for not complying with their stupid internet regulations.
4chan is based in the USA. The UK has zero right to regulate them.
Today, Ofcom finally admitted defeat.
Get bent.
Some good news for you: more people are waking up to Flock and their surveillance.
MapQuest (yes the one that let you print directions to places 25 years ago) has released their Surveillance Layer on mobile, letting you see where cameras and plate readers are located.
Canada's government has just given up.
They're straight up trying to pass incomplete legislation at this point.
Bill C-22 is a complete mess. It's doesn't even say which entities it will apply to.
What is happening in this country? It's a joke.
The Senate is being asked to approve a surveillance framework in C-22 without knowing who it covers, what they must build, what data about Canadians it will retain, or what it will cost. Regs could take 5 years, but no delay for secret ministerial orders.

Good question. @googlechrome @ChromiumDev any ideas why you ignore these requests and distribute literal malware with our logo?

@Windscribe WTF guys 🤣🤣🤣
People are getting shocked that Amazon can guess that you own a cat when you keep buying stuff for cats.
Like brother, Target was predicting pregnancies back in 2012.
Your shopping preferences are barely scratching the surface of all the data they have on you but don't show.
I am contractually obligated to re-post @yegor's Slopcore efforts.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go and smoke a pack of cigarettes.
STOP CONNECTING YOUR APPLIANCES TO THE INTERNET!
Your coffee machine and toaster and fridge DO NOT NEED an internet connection. And if you can't use them without internet, DON'T BUY THEM.
One google search: Can this function without internet?
If not, don't buy. That's it.
Hey uh, @Keurig - what the hell is a COFFEE MACHINE uploading, let me double check...
ONE FUCKING TERABYTE OF DATA IN 10 DAYS!?!?
Immediately unplugging that. Getting my parents a new coffee machine.
Like that one guy at the party making claims about his "massive hog", VPNs love to make big claims about their server counts.
Does Proton really have 20,799 VPN servers? Highly doubtful.
Is 35,000+ servers economically feasible for PIA? Not really.

"Our mission is to eliminate crime. Full stop."
- Garrett Langley, CEO of Flock Safety, Apr 2022
A noble platitude, executed as a nation-wide surveillance state.
There's a profile on how you walk, drive, where you go, what you search and do.
Pray your data doesn't betray you.
Type of shit an official govt of Canada profile posts as they shove through laws that force companies to store more private information about you and what you do online.

Personal information
Geotagged pictures
Banking or financial information

Flock kinda sucks doesn't it, installing "license plate readers" pointed at swimming pools and playgrounds.
Well we're animating a new series where we take CEO billionaires and put them through the systems they've built.
First guest is Flock CEO, Garrett Langley!
Our government is trash.
A ruling majority passing whatever bills they want with no regard for debate or public opinion.
C-22 is a privacy nightmare for all Canadians and businesses operating here.
If it passes, we have to move out of Canada.
But there's still a chance for the Senate to fix this bill, to preserve citizens' online privacy and security.
Let's pray they listen.

The fight against Bill C-22 continues.
Windscribe, Nord, ExpressVPN and many other tech companies have signed a joint letter urging the government to protect privacy, encryption and cybersecurity by amending the bill before it becomes law.
Read it here: fixc22.ca
Bill C-22 makes Canada an untenable place for most tech companies to operate in, foreign and domestic. With trade uncertainty already hanging over the Canada-U.S. relationship, and a government that says it wants foreign investment, there has never been a better time to fix (delete) this misguided bill. It is in direct conflict with attracting the capital our government claims to want, and literally forces existing Canadian companies to take their taxable revenue elsewhere.
More than 20 Canadian and European tech companies and organizations sent an open letter urging the Canadian government to amend Bill C-22 before it becomes law.
The bill could leave Canadians’ data less secure, undermine encryption, and make Canada a harder place for tech companies to invest and grow.
“A backdoor for law enforcement is a backdoor for everyone.”
