Been pissing me off, since yesterday. Kmt.
By force agenda, you know. This nonsense, only happens online.
Ghanaians even have words in the local dialect to describe tribes within the country. We also have words to describe other countries. It's disappointing that because we have words in a language to describe groups of people it is a "slur". I feel like soon this discussion will indirectly come across like we should favour saying things in English. Yikes.
@AkuaAK_ tweet has really created unnecessary discourse, because people misinterpreted the tweet, and now because we have words to describe people, incorrect narratives are being pushed. What a damn shame.

π¨ICYMIπΊπΈπ¬ππ£οΈ: @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani has responded to the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Ghanaian student Javits Frimpong in the Bronx, saying his heart breaks for the family and that the city is working with the NYPD to hold those responsible accountable.
He noted Frimpong had only been in New York for a year and described the loss as one that devastates a family, a neighborhood, and a diaspora.
The mayor also pointed to school resources for addressing bullying and said mobile trauma services have been deployed to the community.

π¨ICYMIπ¬ππΊπΈβπΏ: Leading Ghanaian diaspora advocacy group @ghpac in the USA is demanding justice, a transparent @NYPDnews investigation into Javitsβ case and accountability from NY education authorities over previous bullying complaints.
The group has urged @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani and Congressman @RitchieTorres to engage Ghanaian and African immigrant communities, calling for broader scrutiny of the issues surrounding the case.
GHPAC representatives have also reportedly contacted Torresβ team to help secure a US visa for Javitsβ mother, Doris Adu Gyamfi, who remains in Kumasi.
Torresβ office has yet to publicly confirm its involvement.

A candlelight vigil in honour of Javits Frimpong. π Look at how happy he was here in Ghana. Gone too soon. π Rest well, Javits. ποΈ

CCTV footage has reportedly captured the moments surrounding the tragic shooting of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong in the Bronx. The footage could help investigators identify the suspects responsible for his death. This is heartbreaking. π #JusticeforJavitsFrimpng
Just saw Mama Florence (my π³π¬ next door neighbour). If there's one thing she is gonna do, is pray for me. I love that woman. She stays checking up on me.
It's funny how we built our bond. When i first moved to my flat, boxes of expensive goods were delivered to my house. I knew it wasnβt mine, and figured it would probably be a neighbour's, that was accidentally delivered to mine, so I simply kept them at mine, in hopes someone would knock for them. One day, she did, and that was it! She has since been the neighbour who will regularly check to see if I am aliveπ€£
Being a naturally kind person, really connects me with some lovely people π₯°

Yep. Thatβs what I was trying to say. I added βthisβ and βthatβ. If you search for βalataβ on my page, you will see that Iβve said βalata saminaβ in the past. That shows that I know the meaning of the word alata. They are changing the meaning of my tweet but itβs okay π
Let me even tap out of the side of Twitter, because I am absolutely not here for this dead Ghana Vs Nigeria, online passa.

The reporters covering the case of the 15 year old Ghanaian boy are so insensitive to the dad

Nigerians were living on their own peacefully and all of a sudden in 1969 the Ghanaian government decided to deport all Nigerians from Ghana for doing absolutely nothing forgetting there are also ghanians in Nigeria
Then in 1983 The Nigerian government deported all ghanians from Nigeria as a retaliation
Itβs been over 40 years now
Nigerians has forgotten about the βNigeria must goβ campaign yet somehow ghanians still cries about the βGhana must goβ campaign forgetting they started it
Chale, the way Iβve had to reread this tweet multiple times because of the crazy discourse surrounding it. π
I took it as the word itself not being a βslurβ, which is what everyone seems to be focusing on. And now it seems our Nigerian brothers and sisters think it is too...
I think what home girl is actually saying is that the βthisβ and βthatβ attached to the word carry negative connotations.
Otherwise, why would the word itself be a problem? We have several words to describe groups of people. As with anything, surely it's what is said after, or how it's said, that can make it problematic? No?

Pregnancy/fertility is a shared responsibility
Us men determine the type of pregnancy a woman can have from our sperm quality, lifestyle and health habits
Things that can lead to poor sperm quality: Alcohol, drugs, bad diet, no exercise, sleep quality, stress level, overweight
