WisdomTree has an Onchain Transfer Agent, run by SEC-registered WisdomTree Transfers.
It keeps the official ownership record, issues and redeems the tokenized shares, controls which wallets can hold them, reconciles onchain and offchain daily, and handles dividends and tax.
Every fund needs ownership validated.
Someone must process the purchases, record the transfers, pay the dividends and handle the tax paperwork. That role is called a transfer agent, and tokenized funds need one just as much as traditional ones do.
Yes, in 2026 we use NFTs.
Once a user goes through KYC with us, we send that wallet an NFT that we use to validate a wallet's eligibility to hold an SEC-registered fund.
