Here is Jesús Owono’s reaction after his tackle on Jesús de Miguel:
- He was heading straight down the tunnel because he knew it was a red-card offence, which he was shown on the spot.
- His teammate even went over to greet him for the tackle, not realizing how serious the situation was.
- He rushed back immediately when he realized the severity of the situation.
It was a reckless tackle, and the consequences are heartbreaking. But we must remember that none of these players goes onto the pitch intending to take the life of a fellow player.
Politicians weaponise the vulnerabilities of big private companies, sudden policy shifts, import restrictions, pricing pressure, or selective enforcement, for political points or leverage. Any major private business is only one policy shift away from becoming a political target.
People keep saying Dangote needs the cash. Thats myopic thinking, he doesn’t. The “People’s IPO” is insurance. Turn millions of ordinary Nigerians into shareholders and you make any future government think twice before moving against the refinery. Easy 10million votes!!!
Control your expectations and realize that other people are not thinking about you as much as you are…
