You've just publicly admitted that because he advocated for "left-wing politics", you were "willing overlook or not look into his problematic behaviour, including sexism".
And you don't even see an issue with that a decade or so later.
In other words, if another Brand-esque character came along you would "overlook" their behaviour still.
Liberals summed up that they will always ignore safe-guarding issues "for the greater good".

בשנת 1942, קצין גרמני שיכור ישב לארוחת ערב והתרברב על האישה היהודייה שבחר מהבית-בושת שהנאצים אילצו לפתוח בעיר. הוא אמר את שמה בקול רם. הערבי התוניסאי שישב מולו נשאר רגוע, חייך, מזג עוד יין, וסיים את הארוחה. אחר כך הוא נסע עם הקצין הביתה, דהר ברחובות החשוכים, ודפק על דלת קרוב לחצות. באותו לילה, הוא הסתיר 25 אנשים למשך ארבעה חודשים. הוא מעולם לא דיבר על זה שוב.
שמו היה חאלד עבד אל-והאב. הוא היה בן 31, מוסלמי תוניסאי עשיר שלמד אמנות וארכיטקטורה בניו יורק ודיבר גרמנית שוטפת. קציני נאצים סמכו עליו. הם הזמינו אותו לארוחות הערב שלהם.
תוניסיה הייתה המדינה הערבית היחידה שסופחה ישירות על ידי גרמניה הנאצית במהלך המלחמה. משפחות יהודיות גורשו מבתיהן. יותר מ-5,000 גברים יהודים נשלחו למחנות עבודת כפייה. כוכבי צהוב סימנו כל חזה.
באותו לילה של דצמבר בעיר החוף מהדיה, חאלד הקשיב כשהקצין התרברב. האישה ששמה נקרא הייתה שייכת למשפחה שחאלד הכיר כל חייו.
הוא עזב מיד. הוא נסע במהלך הלילה. הוא דפק על דלתם בחצות.
אל תיקחו כלום. בואו עכשיו.
הוא אסף 25 אנשים — אמהות, אבות, בני דודים וילדים — ונסע איתם כמעט 30 קילומטר לחווה המשפחתית שלו, הסתיר אותם בתוך בית העיתונות של הזיתים, באורוות ובבנייני האחסון.
זה לא היה מעשה גבורה אחד. זה היו ארבעה חודשים רצופים של אומץ לב.
הוא האכיל אותם בעוד האספקה הופכת נדירה. הוא שמר על תינוקות שקטים. הוא סמך על המשרתים שלו לשמור על שתיקה. כשחיילים גרמנים הגיעו לספור משפחות יהודיות, האנשים המוסתרים הצמידו כוכב צהוב לבגדיהם ועמדו ללא ניע. כשהחיילים עזבו, הכוכבים הוסרו שוב.
באחת הלילות, חייל שיכור הסתובב לתוך החווה וגילה אותם. ילדה בת אחת-עשרה שהסתתרה מתחת למיטה צפתה בו צוחק ומאיים להרוג את כולם שם. אז חאלד הופיע. היא זכרה אותו כל חייה כמלאך שומר. הוא הלך בשלווה עם החייל החוצה, לקח ממנו את הנשק, ושלח אותו משטחו.
איש בחווה ההיא לא מת.
במאי 1943, כוחות בריטיים שחררו את תוניסיה. כל 25 האנשים חזרו הביתה בחיים.
חאלד חזר לחיים שקטים. הוא נישא, גידל בנות, צייר, ועבד בשירות הממשלתי.
הוא מעולם לא סיפר לאיש מה עשה. לא לאשתו. לא לילדיו. לאיש.
הוא מת ב-4 בספטמבר 1997, בגיל 86. סיפורו נקבר איתו.
עשר שנים אחר כך, בתו פאיזה ישבה בבית קפה בפריז וקראה עיתון יום ראשון כשהיא נתקלה בריאיון עם היסטוריון אמריקאי שתיאר ערבי תוניסאי שהסתיר 25 יהודים ב-1942.
ההיסטוריון הזכיר את אביה בשמו.
היא הייתה בת 45 ולא שמעה את הסיפור מעולם קודם לכן.
היא פנתה להיסטוריון. אחד הילדים שניצלו בחווה השאיר אחריו 83 עמודי עדות לפני מותה. כל פרט התאים.
"גיליתי מחדש את אבי", אמרה פאיזה מאוחר יותר.
חאלד הוצע לקבלת העיטור הגבוה ביותר של ישראל המוענק ללא-יהודים שהצילו חיי יהודים. הוא היה הערבי הראשון שיקבל אותו.
הוועדה דחתה, ואמרה שהוא לא סיכן את חייו מספיק.
פאיזה השיבה במשפט שההיסטוריה לעולם לא תשכח:
"אבי פתח את ביתו ליהודים. הם לא פתחו את שלהם בפנינו."
היום, 25 האנשים שחאלד הציל יש להם מאות צאצאים החיים ברחבי ישראל, צרפת, אמריקה ותוניסיה. הילדה הקטנה שהסתתרה מתחת למיטה גדלה, עברה לפריז, ובנתה משפחה משלה. איש מהם לא היה קיים אם חאלד היה שותק באותו לילה.
היה לו הכול להפסיד. הוא פעל בכל זאת. אחר כך בילה את שארית חייו בלא לומר דבר על זה.
העולם כמעט שכח אותו פעמיים. עכשיו אנחנו יודעים את שמו.

A few days ago, Austin Payne, a 15-year-old White boy in Georgia, was hunted, shot, and left to die in an abandoned apartment by four black teen males.
He called his mom after being attacked and shot, telling her he was dying.
She found his body the next morning after searching all night for him.
Charged with his murder: Jansquincey Donaldson, 15; Omari Marion, 15; Adarious Wallace, 16; Detravion Parker, 22.
National media has been completely silent.
If four White teens had done this to a Black kid, it would dominate cable news for days.
Instead, silence.
They covered the Nolan Wells case wall-to-wall for a drowning.
Yet this kid was hunted like an animal and brutally murdered, and because his skin is White, his story will never be told.
I couldn’t imagine being his mother and getting that call.
Rest easy, Austin. 💔
