In Israel, it's back to the balagan.
We need to find a way to reconcile and get back together. As Ben Zion Solomon told me, when Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach used to say, “Give me harmony,” he was talking about more than a sing-along.

I think this song was the inspiration for the title:

There’s an old Yiddish folksong adapted in a Heavenly version by Yossele Rosenblatt, z”l, as Lomir Zikh Iberbetn, Ovinu Shebashomayim — Let’s Make Up, Father in Heaven. The song was playing in my head as I wrote this column.

Hey Brad if it's a choice between believing the Israeli Foreign Ministry or a charlatan like you out to pull a publicity stunt it's not much of a contest. And if you really went to protect the farmers from settler violence how exactly would you a guy from Brooklyn, presumably unarmed protect them from a rock throwing and perhaps armed mob

For years, Dustin Hoffman appeared to keep Israel at arm’s length. Now he’s delivered a welcome Hollywood plot twist.
The Oscar-winning actor joined a star-studded UCLA event celebrating the Jewish people’s historic connection to Israel and raising funds for Israelis recovering from October 7. He even joined singer Ester Rada for “Hatikvah.”
When so many celebrities prefer silence, Hoffman deserves credit for showing up.

“Antisemitism has even managed to penetrate the U.N. atmosphere... Naively, I was convinced that antisemitism died in Auschwitz, and now I realize my mistake.”

This man didn't care much for the opinion of others when it came to standing with the Jewish people.
His name was Lord Randolph Churchill and yes, he was the father of Winston Churchill.
When he came the parties and big events he was mocked and told: "What, Lord Randolph, you’ve not brought your Jewish friends?!"
To which Lord Randolph would respond by saying: "No, I did not think they would be very amused by the company."
His own family would criticize him for bringing Jewish people into their home for parties, but Randolph did not care. He was a man of principal and integrity.
Why does this matter so much?
Because it is in this home that the great Winston Churchill would be brought up in to be the man who would save Europe and the entire world from the tyranny of Nazism.
We may not be popular right now, but those who stand with the Jewish people through these difficult times will see courage installed in themselves and their families for generations.
We do not forget those who stand with us 💜

One more thing Brad. You've got international law wrong. One of your own mentors Congressman @JerryNadler once told me that they are not a violation of international law. Occupation is against an established recognized state. The West Bank was part of the UN mandate of 1947 that Israel accepted and the Arabs did not. Jordan was the original occupier in 1948 then Israel took it in 1967 after Jordan attacked them. Until final status is settled through negotiations there is no country to occupy. And let's not forget Israel offered to end the so called Occupation on at least 4 occasions but thw Arabs never accepted their offers. Instead they launched intifadas.

85 years after French police rounded up a population that wanted to assimilate and sent them to Drancy and Auschwitz.
Today, a population that does not want to assimilate in France is rounding up the French police and making their lives impossible.
It's never too late for France to apologize for what it did to its Jewish population.
