Insightful meeting today with 🇮🇪 @BarryAndrewsMEP, @Dóchasnetwork and Irish development and humanitarian NGOs. We discussed the vital role of diplomacy, humanitarian assistance and civil society in advancing peace, stability and stronger partnerships in delivering results on the ground.
Our #PactfortheMediterranean puts civil society at its heart, with €42.4 million allocated to support organisations across MENA for 2025–2027.
On Gaza, our Team Gaza Initiative is mobilising nearly €900 million for recovery, with the first projects underway.
Looking ahead to the next EU budget, we must match ambition with resources. A strong Global Europe is essential to our credibility, influence and ability to deliver and I welcome the support from our NGO partners.

I visited Midnimo health facility in Dhobley, Southern Somalia. We are working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to deliver multiple interventions, including health and nutrition, multipurpose cash transfer, disaster risk reduction and training. The SHIP program, supported by @eu_echo, a consortium of World Vision, OXFAM, WASDA, ZAM ZAM, and GREDO, is reaching out to hard-to-reach communities.
Partnering with @unicefsomalia we are layering support for severely malnourished #children. Through this joint action, we are providing an integrated and comprehensive package of services.
With the downturn of aid resources, these outposts are becoming important lifelines for #mothers and #children.
