Yesterday, a wall of water and mud erased entire villages on the Nepal-Tibet border. More than 180 people are confirmed dead with more than 1300 missing. Rescue teams can't reach the worst areas. This isn't a one off event. Nepal has suffered catastrophic floods every single monsoon season for decades. But the frequency and severity is accelarting due to multiple factors: ▫️Himalayan glaciers are melting faster than in the previous decade ▫️Each melting glacier creates a new unstable lake above a populated valley ▫️Climate change is intensifying monsoon rainfall patterns

Europe is increasingly being divided into countries with a growing population and countries with a shrinking population. The interesting part? Migration is the primary reason for countries experiencing population growth. In 2026 multiple European countries including 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇦🇹 Austria and 🇨🇿 Czechia are growing despite having more deaths than births Meanwhile, much of Eastern and Southern Europe continues to shrink.
