The year is 2028… And every Fortune 500 company is on the verge of bankruptcy due to an endless stream of class action lawsuits associated with AI driven data breaches

A very high quality way to self reflect… Is to ask the question “If the entire world acted like I act, what kind of world would we live in?”’ You might be surprised by the answer

Science again proving what paranoid granola types have long known…
For 70 years, we were told plastic was safe because it doesn't react with anything. Nature just published proof that it does. And the trigger is water. Researchers at Columbia University and UC Berkeley took six of the most common plastics on Earth. Polyethylene. Polypropylene. Polystyrene. PVC. PET. Acrylic. The stuff in your water bottles, food containers, pipes and packaging. They ground them into microplastics and dropped them into plain water. Nothing else. No sunlight. No chemicals. Just plastic and water. And the water started changing. At the surface of every single plastic, it began producing hydroxyl radicals. One of the most reactive and destructive molecules in chemistry. All six plastics did it. Every one. To prove it, they added a yellow dye to water with polystyrene. Over 10 days, nearly 90% of the dye was destroyed. The water turned almost clear. In other liquids, the dye survived. Only water made the plastic active. In plain English: The plastic isn't leaking a toxic chemical. It is turning the water around it into something that attacks. Then they tested what that does to living things. DNA and proteins got pulled onto the plastic surface like magnets. Proteins started clumping together. And red blood cells that touched the particles were torn into broken fragments. But here is the twist. The most dangerous plastics were the ones we trusted most. Polyethylene and polypropylene, the "safe" plastics in bottles and food containers, were the most reactive of all. The effect was weaker in blood serum. But it was still there. And microplastics have already been found in human blood, brains, placentas and arteries. The lead researcher said it plainly: "Water is a key active player here, rather than just a spectator." We spent decades asking what chemicals leak out of plastic. Nobody thought to ask what plastic does to the water inside us. How many times have you sipped from a plastic bottle today?

Anybody else think about this… I spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about whether it makes more sense to risk taking new treatments like peptides for a short term edge - understanding that if AI’s promises are kept any potential side effects will likely be reversible within 5-10 years anyway. Maybe I’ll need that edge when the AI Singularity hits. VS Why take anything now that adds risk? If AI’s promises are kept drugs and treatments and novel safe compounds like peptides will be far more abundant, available, safe and effective. Why risk it for such small gains short term?

Prune your garden and remove weeds
A lot of people want to see you fail to justify the risks they chose not to take. Remove them from your life, ruthlessly.

To those using AI for medical discovery. You're presumed doctors and well educated so this probably shouldn't need to be said.. but start research on subjects in order from the most cases to treat to the least. Start with the leading causes of death, obviously. We admire you're putting your lifes work into a condition effecting 9 people but use your common sense.

Everybody thinks AI is going to increase consumption of goods, but I’m not so sure. I’ll give you an example, a few weeks ago my pellet smoker auger stopped working. Wouldn’t rotate. Tried everything I knew to fix it. I was just about to buy a new one when.. I asked Grok for common troubleshooting steps for this smoker and this specific issue. Followed the steps to the T, boom working. Fixing things you already own just got significantly easier

“looksmaxxing” was a grift all along and you all fell for it
For women’s long-term attraction, cross-cultural data (Buss) and preference studies show they consistently rank kindness, intelligence, emotional stability, dependability, status, resources and competence highest. Looks register as health cues but lower than for men. Meltzer longitudinal work confirms partner attractiveness predicts husbands’ satisfaction far more than wives’. No fixed 20/80 split—fitness plus real competence still beats pure feature focus.

Amazing Adobe stock has remained stable (gained in fact) despite the federal government Ban on outsourcing workers for them and Microsoft and someone cloning and open sourcing their entire software lineup....

.@Sonderling47: "I am hereby suspending from the Permanent Labor Certification Program some of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world — Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini — and also, due to multiple active federal investigations, @USDOL is suspending Microsoft and Adobe from the program."
This guy re-created all the adobe apps with opus-5.5, ported them to rust, and opensourced them something really cool is happening
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
These projects are partial open-source Rust reimplementations of Adobe apps (built rapidly with AI agents), not complete recreations; their READMEs and roadmaps document many missing features and features still in development. github.com/storytold/phot… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/ligh… getartcraft.com
