“Once upon a time he’d believed that art had a moral value: a rightness conferred by the universe on that which was beautiful to look at.  Then he spent time in ballet companies.  He’d seen what these beautiful people did to each other. “ wrath-bearingtree.com/2024/0… @WrathBT

Last night it was me and the slush pile. Poem, poem, poem, poem, poem, poem, poem, and then - bam - that poem that took my breath away. Every poem has its reader.

Literary gatekeeping is toxic. Big 6 is not all that matters. Lit canon is elitist & capitalist. Life is short. Art is meant to be shared. Words to be read. Publish where you want when you want how you want. SUPPORT INDIE PRESSES JOURNALS ZINES. They are committed to literary.

I can genuinely recommend every one of these books. Even if you have a tight poetry month budget, something from this list is worth your while.

This is beautiful! I loved learning about The Other Side Academy. Almost none of the graduates have ever returned to prison.
As president, I will draw on the best job training models in the country. The Other Side Academy in Salt Lake City, a job training school for ex-convicts + people who would otherwise face jail-time, fits the bill. 100% of residents live in quality housing, work in the Academy’s businesses, and graduate with a job on the other side — yet the program operates without a penny of federal assistance. #Kennedy24

Microplastics. Why is no other candidate talking about them? (Radio silence across the board.) Microplastics are being found in the bodies of newborn children. I want a candidate who doesn't kowtow to various multi-billion-$ industries just for political gain, but who cares.
“I Really Hate It When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Is Right” “We know enough about microplastics to be worried. RFK Jr. should not be the only candidate with a plan to fight them.” Read:tinyurl.com/2j4mwrx9 @newrepublic #AV24 #RFKJr #Microplastics

Among farmers who hate Bayer/Monsanto Bobby Kennedy Jr. is a folk hero. He was our David to the pesticide Goliath.
Replying to @TheFinalBot1
The DNC made a huge mistake by not embracing Kennedy, to the very least not used targeted propaganda against him. He is one of the easiest person to fact check. Robert Kennedy is loved by millions. He is a hero. @DNC #Kennedy2024

Poetic sizzle
Continuing with our poetry: January is for poetry. Do not dispute us. We make the rules. Kidding, we don't, but we do love poetry. Come read poet Sam Ambler for a little intellectual/emotional sizzle in your day on @WrathBT, that's what poetry does: wrath-bearingtree.com/2022/1…

Highly recommend THIS OTHER EDEN by Paul Harding. Back when eugenics was the established science, Malaga Island was a racially integrated community in Maine. Then, the doctors came with their calipers and clipboards. Yet another chapter in America's secret history. @wwnorton

Dorothy Kilgallen was “the greatest female writer in the world," according to Hemingway. In 1965, she died just before publishing her account of the JFK assassination. Her Random House manuscript and all her notes disappeared. @WrathBT #MurderMostFoul wrath-bearingtree.com/2023/0…
