My 27’ bold prediction. The Tigers will win 3 of the first 6 games and 5 of their first 9. Smillie will go super Saiyan (dragon ball reference) and be a gamebreaking force. Our 24’ draft picks will go supernova. Smillie will be top 3 in our B&F.
I’ve thought long and hard about it. I think we take Gus Teixeira with our P2 and risk missing Van Hattum but maybe get him with P5. But I think the Dees take whichever one we don’t pick so I don’t think we get Teixeira and Van Hattum in any scenario.
I like that there remains bad blood between the Tiges and the Pies. That’s how it ought to be. Make no mistake, they are our arch enemy. Short going there would have / will make him dead to me. Leppa & Fly are a rabble. Don’t get me started on Magpie supporters.
So likely, Sonsie, Tresize and Ryan were tabled in that complex mega-trade; they were what we offered plus possibly some lower picks. After news broke we weren’t part of the trade, the three players were delisted. Hence they weren’t delisted earlier as they were shopped around.
This is on brand for where Australian culture is now. It’s not wrong to chase success, that’s the point of AFL, but if you shaft a legend and end his AFL career then you set a precedent that winning is more important than the people who made it possible for you to win.
You betcha we can cope. In three years, Hotton and Cumming will both be better than Butters and we’ve already got em’. Go on, bookmark this tweet. I dare you.
Can richmond supporters just cope with the fact that you were NEVER getting Zak Butters, Like the only reason he strung you along was the money offer on the table that has done exactly what his manager wanted that offer to do, it increased the Pies offer ( Which now out) Geelongs and dogs offers, And from that moment you have gone from 0.1% of landing him to a flat 0%, why would he want to get paid that much in a struggling team when he could of done that at port who could match the money offer and offer him the ability to still play with Rozee, JHF and Mitch and probably still get beat most weeks, Instead of playing some weeks with Lalor when not injured, Jacob Hopper 😂😂😂, 1 year left Tom Lynch when not suspended or Injured and Tim Taranto
Watching the retirement speeches this year and last I’m not convinced Yze had made an impression on any of them. He’s been a polite footnote in otherwise heartwrenching thank yous to Dimma and others. They’ve been diligent the older boys and patient with an emerging coach.
I’ve been a defender of Yze. But this speech is illogical. I’ve been a teacher for 18 years, I know when a class is being polite but really doesn’t understand the logic of what I’m saying. That this 20 second excerpt is so thin, means it was the only part worth showing. 😞

Ooze’s final message for the group before pre-season begins in November.
It’s a bit of role play and a rite of passage, it’s totally fine. Being young men, doing stupid stuff, not hurting others. It’s not only fine, it’s important. The real societal problems we have are on the other side of the camera: surveillance and social media.

Can't get my head round the media saying a robot has beaten Usain Bolt's record.
I used to beat Usain Bolt's record every day in my old Mini.
Has the entire world gone fucking mad?
My Tiger list management thoughts. It’s a team sport. A rising tide raises all ships so what is the tide? Confidence, synergy, competition for spots, game plan execution, and things that we can’t see as fans. my picks are after the bump.
Fawcett and green worth developing but may prefer returns to respective states. Eagles would suit green and power would suit Fawcett. I’d like to keep Fawcett personally.
Trezise I honestly can’t read his game: does some good stuff but lacks killer instinct around goals.
Our success is based on culture. 10 number 1 draft picks and Zak butters won’t be able to replace the culture generated by Broady, Prestia and KMac. With each retirement of these premiership stars, the pressure grows on Yze to generate more of it.
