Parents absolutely get to decide what books their kids read or don’t, but their jurisdiction doesn’t extend to other people’s children. Our family (and many others) wants our kids/grandkids to read accurate history and the rich stories of ALL of humanity. Leave our kids alone.

I’m concerned that this person represents a large portion of this country.
This guy says Critical Race Theory is the most important issue in the Virginia Election. He also says he has no idea what Critical Race Theory is.

Lots of Halloween fun in the schools today. Not my favorite holiday, but it's great to see staff and students getting into the spirit with some great costumes. I even bumped into a fellow Jake from State Farm! #PeqPantherPride #NockNation

Dear School Districts If you are forcing your teachers/staff to give up their prep periods to cover for a teaching vacancy due to lack of substitutes — you will soon have another teaching vacancy that you will need coverage for. From a teacher who is broken down:

I’ve never heard the word flaneur before…have you? I love how even a seasoned reader has more words to learn in this language!

I am impressed but the courage and determination of the anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers - a fierce rejection of any attempt to limit their freedom May I suggest that they could now start disobeying traffic lights ? See that red, and go for it !!!

In January, I did a poll, asking how many people would identify as a reader more or a writer more. I definitely think there's a lot to unpack and talk about but look at the numbers:

Betsy DeVos has never done her job to help America’s students. It doesn’t surprise me one bit that she’d rather quit than do her job to help invoke the 25th Amendment. Good riddance, Betsy. You were the worst Secretary of Education ever. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Can we please not teach kids that paragraphs have 5 sentences? Or that essays have 5 paragraphs? I mean, at least not as an absolute?

Thinking today of how presidents in the past have spoken about those who gave their lives in service to country. And the pinnacle of that sentiment comes to mind: Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. I re-read it last night and felt it was worth sharing here.
