Moisture will be returning to the U.S. this week. Locally heavy rainfall will enter western Texas Thursday into Friday from the remnants of T.S. Vance. A storm system will enter the southern West Coast Friday and Saturday, brining widespread showers and thunderstorms.

Isaias will bring areas of heavy rainfall to the central U.S. Gulf coast and much of the Southeast through the weekend. Considerable flash and urban flooding, along with significant river flooding, will be possible. Landslides are also possible across the Southern Appalachians.

As remnants of Hurricane Isaias move into the Lower Tennessee Valley this weekend, southeast flow around the system will bring rain showers to our region. Locally heavy rain could prompt some flash flooding, with the greatest potential over portions of Northwest North Carolina.

Hurricane #Isaias is likely to produce flash flooding across portions of the southeastern U.S., especially in southern Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle. Visit @NWSWPC and @nwsnwc for the latest rainfall and flooding forecasts.

Some locally heavy showers in eastern North Carolina last weekend brought a bit of drought improvement, but elsewhere, conditions are largely unchanged after a cooler but drier fall week. #ncwx

Could see some excessive rainfall in our mountains by late Saturday night into Sunday from Isaias. However, for most, this will be beneficial rains given the drought conditions, especially east of the Blue Ridge.
Here is the latest precipitation forecast and Excessive Rainfall Outlook for Tropical Storm Isaias. Areas of heavy rainfall are expected to impact the central U.S. Gulf coast and much of the Southeast Friday into the weekend. 🌧️⛈️

Moderate to heavy rain is possible across NC this weekend, although the timing is still uncertain. Also we will have to watch Sunday afternoon closely for severe weather/tornadoes. I discuss here: patreon.com/raleighwx/posts/…

The pattern setting up tonight and tomorrow is the classic Carolina "Wedge" or CAD(Cold air damming). Experience tells me a few things about this setup. It's going to be pretty consistent light rain, drizzle, and mist, even when the radar, apps, and the models show not much of anything. It's also going to hang on longer into Thursday than we expected. My advice: be ready for two very damp days, with colder temperatures during the day. It won't be a deluge, but you'll want rain gear all day. #cltwx #ncwx #scwx #wcnc

A low-pressure system brings heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal flooding to the East Coast this week. Meanwhile, tropical moisture will drive a heavy rain and flash flood risk across NM and West TX on Tue & Wed.
