The software has been generally available and stable since July 2026, and it's been through outside review and penetration testing with AI-driven tools, plus our own static analysis.

This week a fake clone of a popular app was being recommended by AI chatbots, looking almost exactly like the real download page.
For most apps that's a headache. For wallet software, a fake download can cost you everything.
The only XColdPro download is at xcoldpro.com. Type it yourself, bookmark it, and don't take a link from anyone else.
Where your keys come from matters more than most people think.
XColdPro generates seeds from your operating system's secure random number generator. There's no custom generator and no hidden fallback. If the system can't provide secure randomness, XColdPro stops and won't make a wallet rather than quietly using something weaker.
Software that silently downgrades is how real key compromises happen. Failing closed takes that kind of bug off the table.

Last night the team behind the game NIKKE posted that its PC launcher's script files may have been tampered with by a third party. They pushed a fix and say they're looking into how far it reached. Credit to them for saying so quickly.
It's a good reminder for anyone with a browser wallet. Everything you install runs on the same computer as your keys: games, launchers, mods, extensions.
Keep long-term keys in an offline cold wallet, away from the machine you play and browse on.

Seconds, Not a Session
To sign a transaction, a private key has to sit in your computer's memory for a moment. What matters is how long it stays there.
In XColdPro, keys are in memory for seconds, not for a whole session. When the work is done, that memory gets a triple-pass wipe.
The less time a key spends in memory, the smaller the window for anything else on the machine to find it.
One Backup Is One Weak Spot
A single written backup has a simple problem. Lose it and you're stuck. Someone else finds it and they're in.
SeedVault in XColdPro splits your recovery into several shares with a threshold you choose, like 2 of 3. Keep them in different places.
Lose one share and you can still recover with the others. Someone stumbles on one share and it isn't enough on its own.
Your Keys Can Always Leave
Here's something every wallet should be able to promise: if you ever want to leave, your keys come with you.
XColdPro uses standard BIP39 recovery words and BIP44 paths, the same standards most wallets follow. Your keys are exportable, and your recovery words can be imported into other standard wallets.
There's no proprietary format holding you in place.
It Won't Make a Weak Wallet
Here's a failure most people never think about. What does wallet software do if your computer can't supply good randomness at the moment it creates your recovery words?
Software that quietly falls back to a weaker source is how some real key compromises have happened. XColdPro doesn't fall back. If the operating system can't provide secure randomness, it stops instead of creating the wallet.
A clear error message is annoying. Weak recovery words you never knew about are much worse.
The Fake Checkbox
One of the nastier tricks going around is a fake "verify you're human" box. Instead of clicking pictures, it tells you to press a few keys and paste a command. Do it, and you've run the attacker's installer yourself.
A real CAPTCHA never asks you to open a command window.
Sentinel Guard in XColdPro targets fake CAPTCHA installers, along with clipboard hijackers and screenshot spyware, and it's built to end the process rather than only alert.

Happy Halloween 🎃 No tricks, just treats: keep your keys where only you can reach them.
No dedicated device needed. @XColdPro can turn a Windows or macOS computer you own into an isolated cold-storage environment.
Keep it clean. Use a trusted USB drive. Stay in control.
When Someone Forces the Question
Most security plans picture a hacker on the other side of a screen. Some threats show up in person and demand your backup.
BlackHole is an advanced duress-protection layer included in Nyxor. Under forced disclosure, what an attacker obtains does not lead to your assets. It's optional and opt-in, and enabling it trades portability for coercion resistance, by design.
Operational details are provided to licensed users only.

New Device, New Words
Trezor posted on Oct 30 about one reported implant in a device bought from a reseller. It hasn't examined the device yet, and no funds were reported lost. Its advice is worth repeating: move to a new wallet with a new seed, because restoring the old backup on another device doesn't solve the issue.
That rule applies anywhere. If you don't trust where your recovery words were made, make new ones.
XColdPro creates your recovery words on your own computer, from the operating system's secure random generator, so you know where they came from.
If Someone Copies Your Files
If someone copies your wallet files off your computer, what do they actually get?
With XColdPro, wallet data at rest is encrypted with AES-256-GCM under your master password, and every wallet gets its own random salt and IV. A copied file on its own doesn't open without that password.
Which means the best thing you can do tonight is make your master password a long one.
A Wallet for One Job
Sometimes you need a wallet for a single payment, kept apart from the one that holds your savings.
XBurnPro creates a time-locked burner wallet for that one job. If the other side doesn't claim the funds in time, they go back to your main wallet. When it's done, the burner's recovery words are deleted.
XBurnPro works with BTC, ETH, BSC, SOL, XLM and DOGE.
No Lucky Numbers in Your Signatures
Every crypto signature uses a one-time number. When a wallet gets that number wrong or uses it twice, the private key can be worked out from the signatures.
XColdPro signs with RFC 6979. That number comes from your key and the transaction itself instead of a random draw, which shuts out nonce-reuse key recovery by design.
You never see it happen. You just get one less way for things to go wrong.
One Backup, One Point of Failure
A single written backup has a hard tradeoff. Whoever finds it has everything, and if it's lost, so is your recovery.
SeedVault in XColdPro splits your backup into shares using a Shamir threshold scheme. You choose how many shares exist and how many it takes to recover, so one lost or found share isn't the end of the story.
