1/ Today at the General Affairs Council in Luxembourg, we discussed key EU priorities:
• Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034
• Preparations for the October European Council
• European Democracy Shield
I reiterated the need for a strong, united and competitive Europe, ready to face today’s geopolitical challenges.
I also met with my counterparts from Moldova and Greece, and the EU Commissioner for Budget.

Intergovernmental Conference with Montenegro in Luxembourg, closing 3 additional chapters.
Montenegro continues to make progress on its European path through sustained engagement & a merit-based process. Luxembourg reaffirms its continued support for Montenegro on this path.
1/ Today at the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.
On Ukraine: We discussed Russia’s escalation & growing hybrid threats, & how to increase pressure on Moscow. We adopted nearly 1600 new listings against Russia, the largest expansion of the sanctions list to date.
2/ On the Middle East: We discussed the escalation in the Gulf & the importance of elections in Palestine, & decided to establish a new EU support mission in Lebanon.
We also discussed the security dimension of EU enlargement.
Meeting my Bulgarian colleague Velislava Petrova-Chamova @MFABulgaria in the margins of the FAC in Luxembourg to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between 🇱🇺 and 🇧🇬.
A long-standing friendship rooted in Europe, and a partnership we look forward to strengthening further.

Both Finland and Luxemburg are strong supporters of Ukraine.
We discussed on how to support Ukraine for the coming winter. Ukraine needs our support politically, militarily and financially.
